“Great Four Night Stay”

We've just come back from a great stay at Fishermans Cottage. Great quirky two bed cottage. Perfect location right in the centre of Ilfracombe. Everything on your door step. Local bars, restaurants, cafe's and shopping centre. The house is directly in front of a couple of bars but we didn't have any issues with noise or privacy.

The cottage has three floors. Long hall way leading to Kitchen and dining room on ground floor. Second bedroom and lounge in the middle. And main bedroom and bathroom on the top floor.

The Hall way has lots of coat hooks for tidy storage of jackets etc. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the crockery and utensils you'd need. Also has washing machine if having a long stay. Dining room looks just like a beach hut with lots of the owners personal belongings. Lounge v comfy with two leather couches, tv and the bt broadband and codes can be found here. Great shower in bathroom. Fresh linen on all beds with loads of storage.

No parking at the property but you can get parking pass for £12.10 for fours nights or £20.00 for a week from tourists info to use at long stay car parks. There are two which we used which were just 5-7 minute walk away from house. The parking pass can also be used when visiting local areas like Barnstaple and Lynton so good value. There is a short stay car park behind the house but this seemed more expensive at £1 per hour apart from 6pm-8am just £1, or £35 for the week.

“perfect position for everything and a lovely cottage”

Super quirky cottage in a perfect location for everything you want to do. We had a fabulous week which started with a warm welcome from Peter. Our dog also loved his holiday due to the fuss he had from people in this amazing dog friendly area

“Great location, wonderful accommodation and a lovely weekend break away”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Its a great location close to everything and in walking distance to the harbor. The place its self is cosy and spacious and i would definitely recommend it. We went for a wedding at tunnel beaches and we could walk there and back. The price i feel was very reasonable and communication great with Peter the owner.

“Cosy, dog friendly cottage, by Ilfracombe harbour and coast path”

It was perhaps the coldest week of the year for walking the spectacular coast path around Ilfracombe with our dogs. This snug 2 storey cottage by Ilfracombe harbour was ideal. It was warm, delightfully decorated, had everything we needed for self- catering. The location is excellent by local pubs, restaurants, shops and on the coastal bus service. This means that bus walks are possible.
The accommodation comprises double bedroom and bathroom on 2nd floor, lounge (with put you up) and bunk bedroom with lower bunk a double bed on first floor.Kitchen and dining room with outside space for drying on ground floor.

The owners have carefully decorated the interior with a seaside theme. Every morning I seemed to find different pictures to enjoy of this gorgeous coast!

Beware everywhere in this area charges for parking but;-
Parking is available in the long stay car park near by, at £3.10 per 24 hours. The tourist information board have a 4 and 7 day parking permit, which covers Ilfracombe Long Stay Car Parks and other local towns and villages - well worth considering. We found National trust car parks (free to members) at Croyde and Torrs (Ilfracombe).
The cottage is located on a pedestrian zone street on the one way system. On arrival it is a bit confusing but once you have worked out where you are it is easy.

We had a fantastic 4 day break in Fishermans Cottage around last weekend.
The owners Pete and Adele were very friendly and could not have been
more helpful.
The cottage is in the most attractive part of town almost on the Quayside -
and has great restaurants and the best pubs in town right on its doorstep
The cottage has all mod cons and a few added attractions - Pete's cool
Vinyl collection and a great beach hut dining room - good fun ...
Fab place and great value - we will try and return

“Lovely House but careful with the one way system”
Reviewed 5 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

I needed somewhere to stay for three nights, that was close to Combe Martin and had shops to keep the wife happy, with good places to eat and was dog friendly.
So I ended up with Ilfracombe and Fishermans Cottage which had 3 floors - Kitchen and Dinning room on the ground floor, living room and a bedroom(bunk beds) on the second floor and the main bedroom and bathroom on the top floor.
It's a happy house, the dog loved its, the kitchen had everything that we needed, the living room very comfortable and the bed conducive to a good nights sleep.
Ilfracombe is an interesting and friendly place, plenty of walks and a good choice of restaurants. I knew that there were 2 pubs opposite, but they were not an issue.
Good breakfasts can be had with Adele's which was round the corner and gave an excellent full breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon on toast which were man sized and a scrummy porridge.
The only down side was the one way system which confused my satnav, and parking is a hit and miss affair but apart from that I hope one day to return.
