“Great location and price”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

We came down here for the weekend as we had a wedding to go to to which was right on the door step of Bath House and close to everything else, which was great! Our room was large and had a all the mod cons you would need! The room got so hot, should have asked for a fan. The room was clean and and laid out well. Breakfast was included, nothing special, done very cheaply, I would recommend eating in the tunnels or in town! That said, we had a pleasant stay and Malcolm (owner?)was pleasant and attentive if we needed anything. Thank-you

stayed here one night while walking the south west coast path, from the outside does not look anything special but inside is done out really nice, the rooms are large and very clean, bed was comfortable, there is parking at the hotel and location is very central, staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast freshly cooked. I will be back.

When we first arrived at The Bath House, we thought it was going to be rather run down but as soon as we stepped through the door it was wow it looked as if we walked into a different hotel.
The room was pretty good for a family room everything we needed was there . Breakfast was spot on , child portion was just the right size, all cooked fresh to your taste . Over all a very good stay .

Stayed here for a night before a trip to Lundy - Great location

Staff very friendly and helpful - even started breakfast early so we could catch our boat.

Room comfortable and clean.

Would be very happy to stay here again.

Stayed one night before cycling the Devon Coast to Coast and was very impressed. Very friendly and efficient check-in, very clean and nicely maintained room and comfortable beds. The receptionist/barman had closed the bar and was about to go home when we got back from dinner, but opened up the bar for us and poured us a few beers to take upstairs which was much appreciated. He also arranged an early breakfast for us as we were leaving early on our cycle. Breakfast was excellent quality, cooked to order and served with a smile. Only stayed one night but would have happily spent a few days here especially at the rate we paid. Thanks to all staff for getting our trip off to a great start.

The outside of this hotel is looking pretty tired but having read reviews I knew to expect this so wasn't as concerned as I otherwise may have been with our first impression. Once through the main door however it was slightly disconcerting not to be sure of exactly where to find reception. A swift process of elimination led us through double doors and in the right direction but a sign showing the way and avoiding that initial uncertainty would have felt very welcome at that point.

The gentleman who checked us in was perfectly pleasant and polite but gave an impression that he was maybe a little jaded with the demands of guests? Every other staff member I met however was warm and friendly and incredibly helpful. Even going so far as to source me decaf coffee (usually available at breakfast but not as standard in the rooms) and balancing on a stool to read through all the DVD titles that are available for guests to borrow (we borrowed a couple at no charge and watched them on our in room TV/DVD combo).

Our room was large and clean. Jacuzzi bath but no shower (although there was a shower head for hair washing). Plenty of tea and coffee provided. We had an issue with the bed - it was metal and squeaked and rocked every time we shifted but I think it just needed tightening so would have probably been ok if I'd found someone to report it to on the morning after the first night of our two night stay. As it was I reported it when we left. The mattress was too hard for me personally but I'm more sensitive than most. My husband found it less of an issue. Both children slept comfortably in their single beds.

This is a period building with squeaky floors, sash windows with small gaps between frame and panes and no double glazing. We were on the top floor so noise from the excitable seagulls was loud in the room but on a positive note noise from other guests was not. The seagull noise didn't bother us at all but they nonetheless VERY loud...this may be worth considering if you think it may be an issue for you.

The location was great, just a short stroll from the town and the sea, the room was large, nicely decorated and clean, the breakfast was nice (veggie English option available too) and the staff ranged from politely helpful to 'bend over backwards' helpful. All in all a positive stay and we wouldn't hesitate to go back :)

We phones ahead explaining we were going to be late arriving, the owner was really helpful.
Room was a really good size with a double and two single beds, clean and tidy plenty of towels and the bed was really comfy.
Breakfast was good and nothing seemed to much trouble, staff were very friendly.
And the location is really good we were there for our sons wedding at the Tunnels beach resort and we couldn't have been any closer.
Would like to return for a holiday as although we have been to Devon had never visited Ilfracombe before.
Everything within walking distance really good location.
