Description: The Pier is a Brewery Tap and Grill serving great real ale from The Wizard Brewing Company and a wide selection of locally sourced gourmet burgers, steaks and seafood, as well as daily specials. Our family friendly pub is situated right on the harbour in Ilfracombe, and boasts a large seafront beer garden with spectacular views of the ocean and North Devon coastline. We're ideal for a romantic dinner for two but luckily can also cater for big groups, functions and this year have even done a wedding reception

“Amazing visit Such helpful people”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Where to start, We dropped in on sunday night for a few drinks & were met with polite good service in this tastefully refurbished pub, We arrived too late for food so unable to comment but the board looked good with something for everyone. The Wizard beer was met with great appreciation by my husband & even I not a beer lover enjoyed a few samples, Good flavour so well worth sampling this local delight. Due to this & the wonderful hospitality we stayed later than expected in the lovely freindly atmosphere. We couldn't get a taxi back after numerous calls to local services & much to our surprise the lovely owner got his brother out of bed to give us a lift back to our holiday camp, All I can say is Thank you for a lovely evening & your kindness to us, It was deeply appreciated & needless to say if we come back to ilfracombe we shall pay a visit to this fantastic place. Our thanks Cathy Ciaran & Mum Pearl

We ate here tonight and had a superb meal. There were 4 of us we had fish and chips and burgers all were great, we also had a selection of the local ales that we really enjoyed. The staff were friendly and happy to have a chat. A great evening, definitely recommend.

“Very very poor, avoid!!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

I was spurred on to visit this place after reading the reviews on trip advisor, we were hugely disappointed, we arrived at circa 1.00pm and took our seat, 2 adult and 2 small children, I first noticed the lack of atmosphere in the dining area, we then went to order and were told quite rudely by a sour faced young woman behind the bar there are no sandwiches left and no fish, the menu is only chalked up on the board and it is very limited and not so cheap, and to be told that they key dish of fish and the complete selection of sandwiches were not on offer was ludicrous, there was no apology, alternative offered or gesture, she was certainly a very unhappy person in her role and with that we upped and left. my advise, avoid and go somewhere else who have a wider menu choice, fresh and available food and happier staff.
