We wanted a longer trip but, on the day, only 1 hour cruises were available.
We headed off towards Combe Martin and enjoyed good views of sea birds and the coastal scenery along the way accompanied by a good commentary pointing out the various features and local history.
This is a lovely way to see this coastline and wildlife (they had seen dolphins 2 day earlier).
The boat is quite stable, being a catamaran, and there was plenty of room on board.
The crew were very friendly and attentive to assist everyone, including elderly and young children in pushchairs.

I love going out on the water when i get an opportunity, i was too late for the longer cruise and waited around for hours to go on this trip. there are no queue numbers given out with the tickets so you need to arrive early to queue for your choice of seating and there is no sheltered or seated area to queue in. Although this is not a huge problem for me it is something i point out as my cruise was spoilt .. actually id say ruined... by irritable undisciplined twin three year olds and i feel this is something prospective parents needed to know as problems had started here already.

the short cruise goes up the channel, turns and comes back against the coast line pointing out historical features and things of adult interest. The boat is smallish with hip height rails and at no time can children run around as it would not be safe. It is for this reason i do not understand why the operators would sell tickets for small children on this trip.

I didn't hear a word that was spoken over the loud speakers, these kids whined and cried the entire trip about being held by their parents and they were bored out of their minds as there is nothing for them.

I paid alot for what it was but was prepared to do so for the advertised tranquil trip but not for what i got. My advise is to buy tickets at the last minute and not to bother if they are letting toddlers on, advise for those with toddlers go to the aquarium they would get more out of it and you'd be showing some consideration for others. If you must bring little ones out then do the trip that includes seals but cliff gazing, cave and mine spotting and old hanging sites are completely inappropriate.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy our trip with us and we have contacted you by email to try to rectify matters but you have failed to respond. This might be because your comments about the trip itself and the boat are positive and your real gripe is about badly behaved children and you realise now that there behaviour is not our fault.
To clarify our position children are and will remain welcome on our trips we will continue to ask parents to make sure there children are comfortable and do not run around the ship. Occasionally we all meet children who are tired or over excited and play up that however is not our fault. We will continue to offer a no charge policy for children 4 and under. For your further information we are the largest vessel here and in fact so large that we are classified as a ship and we have to attain the highest safety levels of any vessels which we are happy to do. We have an exemplary safety record and we offer the best value for money of any trip here.

Took my Mum (88yrs old) on this coastline cruise. The attention that she received from the original booking to the disembarking was terrific. She has a mobility problem but these guys were fantastic and so patient. They brought her and her walker down the steps and got her seated comfortably and throughout the whole time we were on board kept checking that she was feeling okay. The commentary was excellent and the scenery beautiful. Like another reader we were unable to do the wildlife cruise because of the winds but nevertheless the one we went on was very informative. Top marks to the crew and we will be back for the wildlife cruise another time. Thank you.

We went on the one hour trip up to Combe Martin and back on a very hot but windy day (they weren't doing the longer trips because of the wind).
Excellent modern, clean vessel with friendly crew and interesting commentary, thank you.
And there were no 'hints' or other pressure to 'tip' the crew at the end of the voyage. We'll go with them again when next in Ilfracombe.
