“Top rental an easy family holiday with some nice surprises”
Reviewed 13 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We took my parents for a surprise holiday to at Seaholm in April and had an absolutely brilliant time. The house is big enough to provide lots of the space so we never got under each others feet and the kitchen and living areas work well to provide a the right ambience for a family holiday. What worked particularly well for us was the ability for for a few people to stay up long into the night whilst not disturbing those who wanted an early night as well as the TV being separate from the dining and games area - we could all break off into little groups and not get under one another's feet. There were some surprisingly good restaurants really close by, the Espresso Bar and Grill being a top recommendation, and the house is well located for an easy drive to to the beach as well as some great coastal walks right from the house. My mum says a big thanks for the nicest homemade scones she's ever had!

Hi. I'm glad you had a great time. I really mustn't take credit for those scones - my lovely caretaker made them. I'll pass those kind words on.

“Lovely House in Great Location”
Reviewed 9 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Its many years since we visited North Devon and we had forgotten how beautiful it is. We stayed at Seaholm with family friends and their young children. The house was perfect - spotlessly clean, spacious, well furnished and in a great location. There were lovely views from all the windows especially the upstairs lounge and we were conveniently situated for the beach, the town centre and the harbour . We particularly enjoyed the walks from Seaholm, either along the coastal path or around the gardens and down to Damien Hurst's cafe on the quay. His giant statue is a sight to behold btw. We were in easy striking distance of the Exmoor National Park and we found some delightful places on our tour around by car. The youngsters and dog enjoyed the spectacular surfing beaches around the corner from Ilfracombe and the little ones loved The Big Sheep farm attraction nr Bideford.

Seaholm is a very nice place to stay. Its big enough to spread out and find your own personal space or to socialize in the huge lounge or dining room. We will definitely return and do the area justice over a longer stay.

I'm glad you enjoyed your break. I first went to the Big Sheep 20 years ago, and it is such fun to go again as a parent. We hope to welcome you back soon.

“Marvellous facilities and a good location”
Reviewed 7 May 2013 for a stay in March 2013

It was a rather cold time of the year but we had a family celebration and so most of our time was spent in the house. We had not been in Ilfracombe before so this coastline was new to us.

The property was very spacious and so children could enjoy the games room without disturbing everyone else. There is a shop nearby for basic foods and the town centre is not fare away. There are some excellent walks for dog walkers and of course the beach is good too.

I'm glad we kept you cosy in that particularly cold snap. The great thing about dog walking in Woolacombe in the winter is that the dogs can use the whole beach, but you do need to wrap up. Hopefully you'll get a chance to enjoy the house in the summer too so that you can relax a bit more in the garden or enjoy your cream tea on the terrace. I hope your wife had a lovely birthday, it was a pleasure to host your party.

“A holiday home which combines a lovely sense of space with cosiness.”
Reviewed 6 May 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We enjoyed a long weekend at Seaholm with two other families. What was really striking about our time there was the sense of space - you didn't feel you were falling each other! We were happy spending family time in our room, which was light and airy (and spotlessly clean). And the huge lounge was a great place to socialise, plenty of room for the kids to play and the grown-ups to chat. Also worth a mention ...the well-equipped kitchen, made preparing meals a pleasure.

“40th birthday where dogs and kids allowed”
Reviewed 18 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Met with a traditional cream tea and scones - what more could one want?? Great weather - well we are in England so toss a coin!
This is a big house that is very clean and spacious, every window has a great view so run in first and choose the room with your best view (or let the others do this and steal their home made scone!!)
If you have a dog the owner has put info in on some great dog walks (non-dog walkers also welcome to walk) as its right on the costal path for some great walks.
Will be back - next time maybe just me and the family to enjoy this great newly renovated place.
