This takes me back a good boozer with a good choice of beer and cider at reasonable prices.

We visited on two consecutive nights in early August and sat out side getting the last knockings of the sun.

Would recommend to anyone who enjoyed the great british pub.

We discovered this pub as we drove past it looking for our hotel, we noticed the CAMRA signs outside so knew we had to visit later. When we popped in later we discovered they were holding a cider festival. There must have been around 50 different ciders and perrys, with a great selection from 4% up to super strong and from sweet to very dry. The best cider selection I've seen at a cider festival.
The pub was very welcoming, the landlord, landlady and staff were all friendly and approachable. There is a real mix of people that get in this pub which made for a great atmosphere.
The pub doesn't serve food, but the locals and the landlord were great at recommending local places to eat.
Would definitely love to visit again and if you're in Ilfracombe it's a place you must go to.

Nick and his staff gave us a superb welcome in a great atmosphere. The beer was superbly kept but as he was hosting the May bank Holiday cider festival that was the way to go. I have never seen a wider selection of real cider and perry and after tasting and enjoying 31 different varieties over two days Nick went above and beyond when he went to the cellar to find us a final different perry to finish our stay. My first visit to the town and the pub but I am sure to be back. Thanks for everything. Mike.
