Absolutely loved our stay here. You can access the costal path from the back garden, or stroll into town to visit the trendy bars and restaurants. Tunnels beach is amazing. But what realt makes Norbury House so special is the hosts, Adam and Paula, who really have thought of everything.
The house and gardens and very stylish, and the breakfast is to die for.

Just as all of the other reviews say...this place really deserves its no. 1 ranking. Paula and Adam were great hosts and really made us feel at home. They had great local knowledge and were essentially our personal tour guides!
The house is beautifully, lovingly and stylishly furnished. We stayed in no. 8 it was exactly like the photos.
The breakfast was perfect and there was a very good selection on offer. Nothing was too much trouble.
We would definatley return to Norbury House...many thanks to Paula and Adam for a walm welcome and relaxing break.

I stayed here for a wedding at tunnels beaches. Our hosts Paula and Adam were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was to much trouble, they went out of there way to make the stay perfect for everybody. The rooms are great, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. if you need somewhere to stay in Ilfracombe, look no further!

Just returned from three nights at Norbury House. We travelled with 4 children (16yrs to 5yrs) and were made to feel very very welcome by Adam and Paula. The breakfasts were amazing and meant we only needed a light lunch. The morning chat made it feel a real home from home - to be honest it felt a little strange to pay on departure as we were made to feel like we were staying with friends! Adam and Paula's recommendations for days out (Putsborough sands are well worth a visit) and dinner (The Rock Inn at Georgeham in particular) were spot on and Paula was even kind enough to book the Italian for our first night saving us the bother. To echo previous comments, Bovril was a real hit with the children - there is a lot to do in Ilfracombe and the surrounding areas so we ran out of time to let him take us for a walk. Thank you both for making our stay so good. We hope to return soon.

We stayed there for the bank holiday for a wedding we were attending. The room was clean, spacious and decorated tastefully . Paula and Adam are warm, helpful , friendly hosts who have a good knowledge of the area which they are more than willing to share . ( (They will even loan you their dog to take for a walk!)Breakfast had a good variety of choice, locally sourced where ever possible. Would visit again, just to walk there dog Bovril!

Speaking as a wedding planner I couldn’t be more grateful to Paula who let me ask hundreds of questions before I arrived in Ilfracombe, really putting her local knowledge to the test... Her answers certainly helped the wedding I was organising be the great success it was. Paula and Adam (the owners) were both so accommodating to any request I made for the bride and groom (who were also staying at The Norbury House Hotel) especially to make the morning of the wedding run smoothly with the bride getting ready, providing storage areas (even storing the cake for us!), printing off extra table plans for me etc – I loved the fact that the bedrooms were cleaned while we were all out at the wedding (even though it was a late afternoon) so we returned to beds without masses of hat boxes and clothes strewn all over them – amazing to see when you are so exhausted – so thoughtful. Any friends or family that popped in to see the bride and groom were offered refreshments and always made to feel so welcome. It was such a weight off my mind knowing that I could concentrate on the actual wedding ceremony and reception without having to worry so much about how the Bride, Groom and family were being looked after – they were in very safe hands.
The honesty bar was a lovely touch to the Norbury – allowing the wedding party to enjoy a nice nightcap together in the sitting room before heading off to bed. – nice touch to allow family separate time together to relive the fun when they have been so busy chatting to lots of guests all day.
Speaking as a guest of the hotel, the stay was beautiful. Welcomed on arrival with refreshments (while overlooking the superb view). Paula and Adam both so friendly, they would chat to us and let us know they were there but were not intrusive at all – the right amount of friendliness. The room I had (number 4) was well equipped, clean and spacious. Thought had gone into the location of amenities (such as hairdryer plug socket near a mirror etc).
The breakfast... so YUMMY!
Paula and Adam you thought of everything - THANK YOU
