Have just spent 3 nights at this hotel which was with justgo holidays the hotel was nice could do with a bit of updating the room I had was ok small and clean .The staff were friendly .The only thing was although the food was tasty the portions were very small and as there were 4 of us on my table and just a small bowl of veg with the main meal was not very filling for 4 Adults.I felt like Oliver Twist please can we have some more.

Room Tip: No wifi in bedrooms only in lobby .

Just returned form a coach trip. The room l had was very small dark and dated. The tv was so small and at times kept cutting out.

Also my room had a terrible view of a a cement mixer and scaffolding.
The meals we ok . However not a great choice and not alot of it. I was also put out because we were told where to sit which l didnt like. The staff however were very friendly and helpful.
Entertainment was not good. and the public area's so old and dated. The hotel could be very good once rooms updated and painted. Plumbing very niosy in my room

But LOCATION good.

Room Tip: upgrade and ask for a big room. however the hotel has no sea views.

I understand this is a very old hotel and very dated but there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness we found in our bedroom. We couldn't unpack because all the drawers had a really bad smell of mould. There were clumps of dust hanging from the ceiling and the carpet could have done with a good clean. The sheets were clean but the top cover was not. We had a word with the lady on reception and said I know we are on a "wowcher" but she said that made no difference. She said there were no other rooms free but would have it cleaned. When we came back the ceiling had been cleaned but the drawers still strongly smelled of damp so once again no unpacking! She then started getting annoyed saying but are the drawers clean I said the mould is obviously in the wood and they need binning but knew I was getting nowhere! The hotel seems divided, part of it seems ok but when you go through the door leading to our room 246 and others everything changes. Its grotty. The stair carpet changes from downstairs and looks dirty. I think this is why some people didn't mind their rooms. In the dining area there was paint peeling and one couple had to be re-seated because bits were falling from the ceiling on their heads! The breakfast was awful, cheap sausage and warmed up, though the evening meal was quite nice. I would just like to say though, all the other staff were really nice. Thank goodness we were only there for 2 nights I pity anyone staying in our room any longer. I would not rate this hotel at all.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel!

We have just returned from the hotel today,we stayed mon- fri on a half board basis.the public area, lobby, bar, lounges and dining room are all fine, this is a very old hotel. Our room in particular, was in a very bad state of repair. The furniture was at least over 20 yrs old, the TV was very old, the room however was so small that we spent little time in there to watch the TV . We had a family room, with a raised bedroom area with 3 stairs, leading up to it. not completely private as there was no door, just walkway. This room had no TV in it, we felt it would be useful to have one in. There.was with a single bed in it, and the wardrobe for us all to share, there was just enough room to slide past the bottom of the bed to get into the raised area where the wardrobe was and also the en- suite. The en suite was very small, the shower head kept falling out of the holder on the wall, the floor was then soaked as water was going everywhere. The ceiling in our bedroom was very damaged from damp due to an obvious flood in the room upstairs, it looked like it could fall in. The food wasn't great, the waiting on staff were often helpful, when asked anything about the food, for instance ,the curry dish, my husband asked if there were large chunks of tomato in it as he is allergic to this, the waitress went to ask the chef, we were told there wasn't, when the curry came the were very large chunks of tomato in it so my husband was unable to eat it. The daily options for breakfast were limited also, if you didn't like tomatoes or mushrooms then the full English was very dry consisting of, bacon, sausage, egg, fried bread, hash brown. Beans were never an option. The lady on reception was a little abrupt when we arrived after a long car journey, we arrived at 2 and we're told NO! No one can check in until 3pm . The bar staff were often pleasant. The hotel is very old and in need of TLC, glancing in some of the other rooms at cleaning time some did look a bit better than ours. Our room number was 223, we showered,,,and slept there and that was it. You may wonder why we didn't complain? We knew the hotel was full and that there would be no chance of a room change. There were two large coach parties in who also left today so it was full. There was entertainment every night, we went out 2 nights as did other guests so not always a large audience for the performers, last night the entertainer was very good and everybody appeared to enjoy it very much.

Room Tip: Not room 223, close your windows when poss as the noise from the seagulls is relentless.

We have just had a wonderful weekend at this Hotel, myself my partner and 2 friends spent the weekend here. The Hotel takes you back to Victorian times with its old yet lovely adequate decor, you get to feel the full effect of how it much have been years ago to be at the seaside, but I mean this in a good way as the rooms were fab and cozy the food tasty and the care the owners and staff gave us was above and beyond what we have got in other hotels here in the UK and the USA. It was like being at home, a real family atmosphere. Not like some over posh hotels where a child touches a table and is frowned upon !!! or you dont know where to sit as you are afraid you will mess something up !!
We even noticed the great care and help they gave to a group of old folks who came on a coach trip..it was lovely and they all seemed to have a great time !!
The entertainment was great, to see the old and young dancing together was touching.
We were given good advice on what to do and see in the area and we can honestly say we had a wonderful weekend and would visit again.
Thanks to the owners, job well done see you soon !

Room Tip: higher floors not for those with walking problems as lots of stairs and hallways ..but there is a li...

Having stayed there at Xmas we decided to go back to celebrate two birthdays with our friends,
all went very well and a good time was had by all.The best time was on our last night when Wendy and staff came out with the cake and whisky which we had pre-ordered for our friends
70th birthday, so nicely done it rounded off our lovely stay.Again having been before we weren't sure it would be as good but doubts were allayed as it was just opposite,so much so we are going back again for Xmas,so good to have a family run hotel and areally fine staff.
Food was enough and at least the meals were enough, best of all the plates were HOT,
Maybe not up to some peoples standard but a family hotel, tried to get extra days but was
fully booked until September

Room Tip: We had our rooms at the front but was really surprised how quiet they were, everything was in place a...
