“Lovely place, highly recommend!”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I recently stayed at Wildercombe House for a friend's wedding. The accommodation was beautiful and very comfortable - a very spacious room with every little detail thought of. The house is set in a lovely location with views over the bay. Anne-Marie was very warm and welcoming and invaluable help with a few minor alterations needed to a bridesmaid dress! Thank you!

We booked Wildercombe House with several changes to the booking along the way. Despite this we were never made to feel awkward about it by Ann Marie whose professionalism was accompanied with warmth and understanding. Our stay was further enhanced by the fact that we were treated as guests and not just travellers passing through, Ann Marie and her staff were always willing to chat and answer our questions regarding the local area and attractions. The interaction was always refreshing and warm. It has been a long time since I stayed anywhere and felt totally comfortable with the people and surroundings.
The hotel and rooms are of the highest quality and all are of a good size and not cramped.I have a thing about bathrooms and Wildercombe House has my ideal décor and showers. The rooms are also serviced daily. The food is also of the highest quality and the service is not rushed. I do not like to feel my food is being thrust on me. Wildercombe House is a beautiful place well run place with a homely feel without the staff being overly intrusive but Ann Marie was always available when needed. I am so impressed I will be visiting again hopefully later this year.
A BIG THANKYOU to Wildercombe House for making it a lovely experience and Bank holiday weekend.

Room Tip: Room 3 onwards.

We booked Wildercombe House for 1 night as a friends wedding was taking place in Tunnels Beaches. We received a lovely warm welcome from Anne-Marie who let us check in early at no notice and were given room 7. It was fabulous, really spacious, huge bed, a bathroom bigger than my living room and the best pillows I have ever slept on! The pillows were so good I asked Anne-Marie where they bought them from so I could buy my own.... she was very obliging on that front too.

I was ever so slightly disappointed with the shower that looked amazing (big waterfall showerhead) but I like a really powerful, slap you across the face, kind of shower and this was a little bit on the gentle side.

The breakfast was nice, with perfectly poached eggs, though we did have to wait quite a while for it despite pre-booking it the night before.

However, none of this detracted from the experience.

All in all, I wish we had booked an extra night to really enjoy the little bit of luxury that Wildercombe House has to offer.

We booked the wonderful wildercombe house after a visiting our wedding venue, Tunnels beaches and we are so glad we did. What a beautiful place!

We stayed in room 6 and were totally spoilt by the amazing views, quality furnishings and outstanding decor. Our bathroom was out of this world! Top class!

We virtually booked out the whole guest house and Anne Marie and Barry were the perfect hosts, they knew everyone by their first names and helped with any thing we asked of them. Thank you!

The breakfasts was delicious and plenty to choose from, they even made my grandparents a pack lunch for their coach journey back to London as they were going to miss breakfast- how thoughtful!

A comfortable, enjoyable stay enjoyed by all the family.

Thank you Anne Marie and Barry, we hope to return again.

Best wishes,

Mr and Mrs Turner

We stayed here for our wedding night and as some of our family were staying for longer, we had the pleasure of sampling an evening meal also. Amazing rooms, we had a huge room with the most fabulous steam shower! Food was wonderful, delicious and the hotel itself is spotlessly clean. Stylish art and a really homely but not intrusive service from the host. Have to say that the host (Ann Marie) was absolutely wonderful, from arranging the family to stay and also for her lovely manner throughout. Fantastic place to stay, would highly recommend!!!!

what can we say about the hugely warm welcome we received from anne-marie and barry at wildercombe house. We viewed the hotel when we booked tunnels beach as the wedding venue and from that moment anne-marie was always happy to help with any queries we came up with.
When we arrived for the wedding anne-marie and barry had thought of everything we might have forgotten like booking transport to get us to the venue! her and barry managed to put everyone at ease and the rooms were wonderful, better than any hotel we have stayed in (and that's quite a few) the breakfasts were fantastic and the bar and lounge area so relaxing, we would not hesitate to recommend every aspect of this hotel and look forward to returning soon, so a big thank you from mick & sue.

Room Tip: we had virtually booked all of the rooms and it would be difficult to choose one i liked best as the...

My wife and I plus other family members had a stay at Wildercombe to attend a wedding at Tunnel Beaches. We can only echo the other reviews to say that this 'is the place to stay, if you are thinking of either a short break or wedding as per our visit. The rooms and quality of the decor are amazing, where else do you expect oak furniture throughout? The staff are friendly and we have never known a place where the owners knew and called everyone by their first names. Would we go back, definitely and anyone holding their wedding should put Wildercombe at the top of their list.

Room Tip: Go for the bigger rooms for that special occasion!
