“A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

A relatively small family-run site that has been, and continues to be, developed and updated on a rolling basis. Recent refurbishments include the reception area, cafe area and some of the pitches. A small restaurant, at the rear of the reception, has recently been re-opened providing an eat-on-site option (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) and the one meal eaten in there was of a good standard. Within the reception area there is a small shop that sells the necessities food wise as well as some spares too. The staff are friendly and very helpful, providing advice on what is available in the local area.

Grounds are well tended and the shower blocks and washing facilities were of a good standard and kept clean and tidy. There are a couple of play areas for children, a well defined circular walk through woodland (some may find it a bit of a challenge as some parts are quite steep) that at times follows a river that runs through the site and a well defined dog exercise area.

Pitches can include, hardstanding, electric, water and waste.

The site takes Motorhomes, Caravans and Tents and also has 3 cabins too.

Prices are reasonable

Ideal for those wanting a quieter time on holiday.

We booked this site on the internet without knowing very much about it. Having stayed at some very poor campsites in the area, Hidden Valley was a pleasant surprise.
Loads of room, grass pitches, fully serviced, digital TV connection and all at a reasonable price. The cafe/restaurant is good quality and does a take away service.
The only thing that let it down was the internet access. At £12 a week for one device it is very expensive. The connection often fell-out and you had to enter a 16 digit number to reconnect.
Other than the internet our stay was perfect.

Stayed in a tent, alongside friend in caravan. Pitch was spacious, well-tended, grass short and in good condition, water point nearby.
The shower and toilet block was very clean, and is such an important point!
Lots of trees, small stream, bird-life.
Any "cons"? Well, the road noise is noticeable, but not intrusive. and the pitch I was on did not have such a great view ... but thee are small points really.

Certainly Hidden, lovely welcome by Carol and her staff. Exceeded our expectations. Pitches Oak 9 and 10 were ideally suited. New restaurant facility very impressive and entirely acceptable all round for all of breakfast lunch and evening meals.Great site.

Lovely looking site and we were sited nicely in the trees. But.. They need to tidy up a lot. Every job that seems to have been done on site seems untidy. They have seemed to left the leftover stuff lying around every where. For instance, the bridge shown in the picture, left over old wooden posts etc just dumped in the bushes. The entrance just inside the barrier is a junk yard! The so called re-opened restaurant. I will give it half a star.

Site is too expensive for what it is.

Would I stay at this site again no. Would I visit the area again definitely a yes.

Good, clean site. Bring a Co ax lead for TV. Friendly owners, nice vibe. I would suggest one improvement, a drying room for wet suits even if it was feed the meter but the site isn't much used by surfers.

We stayed over May half term with three young children and two dogs it did not stop raining while were there despite this we had a fantastic time.
The pitches are massive we have a large 8 berth tent and it accommodated it comfortably Despite the poor weather the grass pitch held out well
The location of the site is beautiful and you feel really secluded.
The kids loved it the play areas were fantastic and they loved playing in the stream
The staff were polite and helpful and the facilities clean and reasonably modern.
Plenty to do in the sorrounding area with some lovely beaches and would consider returning though we like to try and visit different places.
