Good address for a family stay but...a few buts to be taken lightly as this is a charming place rather than a trendy hotel.
Great location just above North Beach (pretty spot if you can forget the horrible snack shop) with direct access through a charming garden on the cliff side. We used the chairs and tables provided and enjoyed lovely picnics with clams and crabs bought in the harbour. Luckily this was end of the season so we managed to park but otherwise there is hardly no parking close nearby.
Very friendly staff and everything is provided for a perfect family stay: heated outdoor pool with towels, games room (pool, billiard, bowling, football table...) and even an in-house cinema with themed diners.
Good cooked breakfast (apart from cooked smoked salmon!).
Although the place has been freshened-up, some rooms are still outdated in their colour scheme but clean. Our shower was tiny but clean (could do without the carpet!). Cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Light sleepers beware of thin walls and some rattling pipes. Mattresses a bit worn out but we had a booked twin beds to ensure not getting stuck in the middle ditch so enjoyed a good sleep!

Room Tip: Family room 37 was great despite not being seafront: spacious, sunny and with modern bathroom .

We stayed two nights and booked a seafront room. On arriving into Tenby we turned the corner onto the seafront road and were immediately taken aback with the glorious view. With a family of five we had alot of luggage and unfortunately there was no obvious set down point in front of the hotel. We bundled all our luggage and checked in. There is a lift, which is a bit dated and tempermental, but we felt it add to the charm of the hotel. The building is old and rooms are dated, but this is part of the charm of the hotel. Service was excellent, and we had both lunch and breakfast in the hotel which was delicious. The breakfast is excellent and in a beautifully decorated room. We had a problem with the parking at the hotel. You can pre-book the limited spaces and there are car parks near by which hotel will refund. Make sure you pre-arrange and know this before hand. Unfortunately on our departure we got stuck with a parking fine, which if we had known the where we could park, this could have been avoided. That said hotel facilities has everything, again all is a bit dated, but our kids thoroughly enjoyed the use of the heated pool, games room etc. My only gripe in the rooms is that our beds were a bit uncomfortable, and the windows had a sand fly infestation. I managed to clear it out of both our rooms, but is probably something expect so near the sea. We had a wonderful two days in the beautiful village of Tenby. Long beach walks, beautiful gardens outside the hotel down to the sea front and very welcoming staff and locals. Definitely a place to revisit for us.

Room Tip: Pick a room with sea view, it's worth seeing the surnrise in the morning.

First the positives : A beautiful location & friendly staff. Now the torture chamber, which was our room (room 19) deserves no stars!! My wife and I stayed 2 days before the Ironman event for 1 night at Fourcroft and we were told the hotel is full to capacity. Imagine our disappointment when we opened the door and immediately noticed the stale smell. We then had a vision of the bathroom from the 19th century! The carpet was a nightmare, the decor was dated and the double bed had dirty linen with a huge back spot on the sheet. This spot would have been obvious to anyone making the bed.
I paid £120 for the night but even £20 is too much for the pleasure of staying in room 19.
Dear management, thanks for being friendly, but really I think you should go have a look in room 19 and ask yourselves whether you would be happy for your friends or family to stay there.

You booked in at the last minute via an online travel agency & were unaware of Tenby's Ironman Wales environment, ie how busy the town becomes &, indeed, its impact upon hotels like Fourcroft. A stale smell in the room is unlikely, given how busy we have been for the last two months. You state there was a mark on the sheet, which our housekeepers had not seen (if they had, another sheet would have been used) but didn’t tell us about until your checkout. We could have changed the sheet as soon as you had told us, but on checkout it was too late. When we looked out the linen, we couldn’t find any mark at all. Your comments about the bathroom reflect your taste, about which we make no comment.
Overall, we consider your opinion unhelpful – our rooms are regularly inspected by Visit Wales inspectors to ensure we comply with three star criteria and standards – and a reflection of your attitude: you expected to be able to move to a sea view room and did not believe we were full (Ironman, we were) then took umbrage.

I recently stayed there for two nights with my daughters in a triple room. The room was clean and big enough for the three of us. Although we enjoyed our stay I would like to point out my dissatisfaction with the breakfast service. On the first day our breakfast order got lost in the kitchen, after nearly 30 mins I caught the eye of our waitress to enquire how much longer we would have to wait, she went to investigate and eventually returned with the lost order story and a very wuick lame apology, breakfast quickly followed with slightly undercooked bacon. The following day was also not great after having to swat 2 wasps that were attacking our table and causing disruption to other tables I asked for more toast as they had landed on ours. After about 20 mins the waitress that I had requested the toast from came back into the restaurant to annonce how hot she was from having to bring 9 suitcases down the stairs as maintenance had'nt turned up that morning. I could see she was flustered and did´nt wish to add any further stress for her as she had clearly forgotten our fresh toast.
Having paid 280 pounds for just two nights I would expect slightly better breakfast service than we had.
This hotel displayed Investors in People accreditation in the foyer, it is hard to believe that there is much waitress training ongoing.
I would have mentioned my dissatisfaction when settling the bill had I had been asked if everything was ok with my stay.
Overall the hotel, location and atmosphere is great. just a pity about the breakfast service we had.
