We stayed in early January with a KGB deal which was better than half price, and at this price the place was brilliant. At the full price it would have been acceptable.
The place is up a hill about a mile from Tenby town centre, up a quiet road with adjoining countryside - so no noise. The hotel was almost empty so my comments need to be viewed in that context. Had the place been busy, which apparently it is from March onwards, things may have been different.
The room (202 on the ground floor) was a good size with a good standard of furnishings and fittings. There was a small flat screen TV with freeview and a built in DVD player, a table with two chairs, a large bed, fridge, safe, wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps etc. The bathroom was clean and the shower over the bath worked well. There was a heated towel rail and an extractor fan that actually worked (a rarity in hotels these days). There was a patio window that opened out onto a small balcony and a lawn - this would be great in the summer. So, overall, a good room - no complaints.
Facilities - there is a restaurant, bar, reading room and a leisure centre. The standard of food served in the restaurant is very good. There are £10 evening meal offers on Tuesdays and Thursdays - otherwise it is a fixed price 3 course dinner at something like £21 which we didn't have as we didn't think we could manage three courses. The bar is well appointed, serves a good range of drinks at sensible prices and there is a TV. The leisure centre is small but boasts a swimming pool and jacuzi and saune room as well as a small gym with a few machines. Free towels are provided at reception for showering, but don't bother - the showers don't ever seem to get hot! This leisure centre is an excellent bonus and was free to enter as part of our package.
There is free wifi - at least it is free for the first device per room (you get a username etc from reception) and after that there is apparently a small daily charge for other devices. The speed is not fast but adequate.
Staff - an absolute joy. Almost without exception they were chatty, helpful, knowledgeable and went the extra mile every time. A great credit to the hotel.
Overall - highly recommended
