Fantastic location, clean and well maintained, modern appliances, smooth handover with clear instructions, etc.
Sue, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and was on hand to offer advice and suggestions and to answer any queries.
Very quiet - but the only issue I had was with the bongs in the night from the church up the street. I'm always hot so for those of you that are not and are happy to close the window it shouldn't be a problem.
We are regular visitors to Tenby but it has been a long time since we booked self catering but as we wanted to make this a special family holiday with the grandchildren we decided on booking Battersea House having already read many good reviews and we certainly were not disapointed. We were aware of the location, situated in a quiet road but only minutes from the beach and town centre. It is a beautifully decorated large house with comfortable beds and good quality linen and towels with everything you need together with a lovely courtyard area to sit out in. We certainly would have no hesitation to recommend this property and look forward to returning again in the future
Just arrived home from our second holiday at Battersea House and are about to book for next year. Battersea House is beautifully decorated in a great location, 2 mins from the beach and 2 mins from the town centre. It is a 3 storey house large enough for grandparents, children and grandchildren, or 2-3 families. Tenby is ideal for a family, seaside holiday with some of the loveliest beaches in the UK. Can't wait until next year.
A late decision to take a holiday in June left us with very little choice available in the usual locations in and around the South West. Our searches threw up a number of opportunities including Seascape Holidays who had properties in both Cornwall and Tenby in Wales. After the usual research and after reading numerous reviews we eventually plumped for Battersea House in Tenby.
Despite this being a triple first for our family, Wales, Tenby and Battersea House all turned out to be a fantastic choice.
The team at Seascape Holidays set the tone with a really efficient and friendly service. The legendary hospitality of the Welsh and the fantastic scenery were a match for anything that we had experienced elsewhere.
Tenby was a real surprise and provided a tremendous mix of places to eat, drink or to visit all set within a truly picturesque setting - there was genuinely a choice for every budget or taste and you could easily spend a fortnight without visiting the same place twice. Oh and don't forget the beaches which are truly amazing - an overused adjective but in this case genuinely deserved.
Finally, what is there to say about Battersea House! A true gem, laid back and classy in possibly the best location in Tenby. 30 seconds from the end of the road and the steps down to South Beach. 2 minutes to the high street and all that it has to offer. 5 minutes to the harbour and the front with all of its sights and sounds. All set in St Mary's Road which is quiet and uncrowded.
You can probably guess that we enjoyed our holiday in Tenby and Battersea House.
We will, definitely be heading back there in the future.
Battersea House is just a fabulous holiday house for one or two families. The location is perfect and it is very well equipped. A wonderful spacious property in a superb location. It is very tastefully furnished and decorated throughout. There is an Aga in the kitchen which was lovely to have, warm, welcoming (in April especially) and so easy just to pop something in the bottom oven!!. The house is set out very well and there is plenty of space to get away and have a bit of peace and quiet. The location is outstanding 2, 5 or 10 minutes’ walk to the beach, depending on which one you use. We chose the 10 minute which is easier to access. Good for children/pushchairs and the elderly. The harbour is lovely to go and have a wander round too. The house doesn't have any parking on site, however there is a delegated parking space at another underground location which is perfect as you don't get the seagull mess on your car!! It is only a 5 minute walk to and fro and good to get the excersise. The house is within the Old Town Walls so access is limited between the times of 11am and 5pm in summer months. This isn't a problem though and there are plenty of other carparks nearby for other cars. When previously staying in this same street we simply kept one car parked by south beach for the week and kept all the beach clobber in it. Battersea house is also perfect for the town and amenities. It has the benefit of being on a quiet street but everything is on hand - small express supermarket two minutes’ walk, bakeries, eateries, pubs, fish and chips, ice creams etc all very close. This property was absolutely perfect for our family holiday and we can't recommend it enough. There is a patio area which would be lovely in the summer, it also has the benefit of an outside shower. There are miles of sandy beaches and lots of lovely walks only a few minutes away. Tenby and St Marys Street especially is my favourite UK holiday destination.... Such a wonderful holiday location, simply beautiful and so easy with lots of things to see and do. The beaches are fantastic. Thank you to Battersea House for making our holiday such a pleasurable and memorable experience. Look forward to returning in the not too distant future. The Qube was our favourite restaurant!!
A spacious well appointed house, tastefully decorated, loved the paintings. All the rooms large, warm and comfortable but bring your slippers for the stone floor in the kitchen and diner. In the centre of town but quiet and only a few yards from the South Beach and views of Caldey Island. Double yellow lines outside but only a pleasant few minutes walk to the car park. You will find the multi storey cheaper than Rectory if you bring a second car.
Great house in very close proximity to bustling town centre and beach. Lots of space upstairs and in bathrooms. Downstairs a typical town house, adequate space at a large dining table, and all you need in the kitchen. Our party of 6 was reduced to 4 for the holiday which was enough really for the seating in the lounge. The seating would not have been good for my elderly parents (lounging type leather sofa) if they had come along. Nice to have some outside area in town centre location with a small courtyard. Parking a bit of a fiddle but not far away - one space only at a secure underground carpark. Other parking is with a weekly charge at local car parks. Easy walk to Sainsbury's/Tesco express. Lots of cafes and long soft sanded beaches. We would recommend the South Beach restaurant, the food was excellent. Beware of the seagulls, they can recognise a Greggs bag and will whip that or any ice creams or chips straight from your hands to be devoured in one gulp!
