Description: Here at The Mooring, we have a passion for lip-smacking, going-back-for-seconds, seasonal food. We make the most of the fish & fare on our Pembrokeshire doorstep. And we don’t pay through the nose for produce that’s not in abundance, which means our customers don't have to either. We’re natural born feeders. We perfect classic dishes and source tasty combinations, all seasonal and all freshly made

“Excellent eating experience in comfortable surroundings”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

Booked in advance for a family birthday celebration meal. As we sat to eat many people that walked in from the street were turned away due to not reserving, a very busy place. Staff were very helpful and also brought out our birthday cake and lit the cancels etc....they even provided us with plates and knives so we could eat out own cake rather than choose from the desert menu. It's certainly not cheap but the food is of very high quality with warm and friendly staff in comfortable surroundings. I would come again...

“Very Good Indeed”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We booked a table for two with a week's notice. I'm glad I did because when we arrived the place was full; clearly a very popular place with locals as well as holidaymakers like us. The food was nicely presented and cooked. Portions were generous and the service was very attentive.During our meal we were offered an alternative table after our first course - the restaurant had quietened down a bit by that point and there was a nice table vacant next to the front window. However, we declined the offer, being happy where we were - but a nice gesture nevertheless. I would certainly go back again if the opportunity presented itself.

“Nice little restaurant”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Friendly staff helps and they certainly were.
We only had Sunday lunch but found it to be very good . The puddings were fabulous too.
Wine was on the expensive side so only had a bottle.
Would like to try the food off the menu next time we are in Tenby later this month.

“A very enjoyable meal”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

We had booked a table for four based on Trip Advisor reviews and there was nothing to disappoint us.
The surroundings are plain and simple but the welcome is genuine. All the servers were attentive and helpful. I was particularly impressed when one of our party dropped a knife on the floor and a server hurried from the far side of the restaurant (which was completely full and quite noisy) to replace the knife.
I need gluten free food and was given an ample choice including the offer of gluten free bread. Two had fish chowder as starters which were delicious and very tasty. The others had prawns in a chilli sauce. The prawns were very succulent and the sauce was excellent if you like chilli - a bit of a surprise to the one who hadn't read the menu carefully!
The main dishes were lobster, pan fried sea bass and sea bream. The lobster was perfect, sweet and juicy, not overcooked as too often happens. The sea bass was in three small pieces. Again, not overcooked. It was served on a bed of smooth mashed potatoes with samphire and drizzled with the juices from the pan. Utterly delicious. The sea bream was similarly presented but in one piece and with the addition of cherry tomatoes. We even ate the fish skins which is not normal for us.
Desserts were not so special. Good ice cream but maybe more imagination is needed.
We had a bottle of NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which was very good plus two soft drinks. Total cost £132 for four people. Good value for the quality. Thank you.
