We spent a one night stay at the hotel with our young daughter and the welcome and assitance we received were fantastic! Very friendly owner and staff. Felt like a home from hom. Wonderful location, with incredible views and very close to the center of town. Breakfast was good and the waiting staff were accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a short, but very pleasant stay

Hotel is nice, it said we had a restricted sea view this was a lie, we had an excellent sea view, it was stunning. Its really good value the room was small and the bathroom was similar to a wet room. But we was to busy enjoying tenby to care. Breakfast was good and service was excellent. For a great value stay i would be going back.

We spent a long weekend here in early August 2013. The hotel has a stunning location overlooking Caldy Island and many rooms have a sea view, so ask if one is available. Rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable, with good mattresses. Breakfasts are traditional and served by friendly waiting staff. For evening meals you can choose from three options per course.
Apart from the wonderful peaceful location within walking distance of the town centre, Clarence House's unique selling point is the warm welcome and consistently helpful service from all the staff. If you are lucky enough to have Hubert accompany you on a guided tour of the area, you will enjoy his entertaining way of sharing his extensive knowledge of this area.
Warmly recommended

The food was good, the restaurant was large and busy but the service was good considering the large number of guests. The hotel is on the front and in a good position on the cliff-top, but it could do with updating and reminded me of a residential home. The staff were fine. Mine was a coach trip late booking so I was given a room on the top floor. It was obviously a large room that had been divided into 2. It was pretty awful and very small and narrow. The partition wall was very thin so I heard the next occupant quite clearly. Very disconcerting and annoying. The window was very dirty and I had to stand on a chair to see out of it to the sea. The bed was meant to be 3ft due to the size of the headboard, but it was in fact 2ft 6ins. The 'en suite' shower room was up a high step, an afterthought and not nice. I didn't fancy a shower all the time I was there so strip washed. The tv was high on the wall so I had to lay in bed to watch it and got neck-ache and the programmes were very limited - 2 channels at most. I can't comment on the other bedrooms of course, but this one should have attracted a discount and not a single supplement. I'm used to all sorts of accommodation, but this was really poor as a bedroom and defied the Trades Description Act as such. Apart from all that the hotel was in a good position and close to the town and it's possible to walk down to the beach if you can tackle a steepish hill. The town itself is quaint and the shops interesting - we don't all want the shopping mall experience. The beach is very wide, long and clean. I loved Tenby and the surrounding areas but it was just the room that I could have done without.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the front of course but NOT on the top floor.

Thank you for your review. Please note that the Clarence House Hotel is not a purpose-built hotel like a Holiday Inn - all of our rooms are different shapes and sizes.
We do struggle to clean the outside of the fourth floor window as our window cleaner cannot reach that far - however, I will look into it.
I wish you had mentioned your TV to one of the staff and we could have retuned your TV for you as all of our televisions have freeview channels on them.

We booked last minute,so didnt expect any availabilty, but we were lucky..
our rooms were on the 4th floor, small double and small twin, but very nice. later that afternoon a group of noisy men moved in for 1 night, so we expressed our concerns to reception and were offered 2 rooms on 2nd floor... no hassle,amazing..lovely rooms there also, clean, quiet, plenty of tea and cofee, really good entertainment on Sat night,
We were 2 single over 60.s and joined in happily with the coach that came later.
Cannot comment on food as we ate out, breakfast was good tho, staff so friendly and helpful, location superb, around the corner fron the town, across the road from the beach..we will be back.... a truly lovely 3 days..fully recommend this quirky hotel.

Room Tip: the front balcony rooms are the best

We started in room 110, which had a sea view, and a balcony. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay so much we asked for another night, but room 110 was not available. We were transferred by staff to room 104.!! WOW this was an amazing room. Light, airy with separate shower cubicle in bathroom. Balcony was much bigger, giving us even better sea views, even when in bed you could see the sea from every window. Lifts to all floors make it perfect for the less mobile. Staff are so welcoming, everyone smiling and pleasant,no matter how busy they were. The food (we had both the breakfasts and an evening meal) were superb, the evening meal was 3 courses , with choices for each one, followed by tea or coffee. even though they were very busy, the waitresses seemed to find time for conversation and making sure everything was to your liking.
No negatives about this hotel, we came home today and are already looking at when we can rebook for another stay.. In room 104 of course.

Room Tip: Sea views are spectacular, ask for a premier room to get the best of everything.

My husband & I stayed at the Clarence House Hotel in July 2013 with a large group from Brecon Town Concert Band during the band's summer tour to Tenby! We had a lovely room with a spectacular sea view for 2 nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel's staff were friendly & welcoming, our room was clean & comfortable and had everything needed for our stay. Bar prices were very attractive particularly during 'happy hour' & breakfasts were more than adequate. The hotel's garden was a lovely place to sit & relax with a cool beer! Overall the hotel offered good value for money in a great location on the sea front & we hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a room with a sea view!
