This hotel has some beautiful views and an excellent location. Our room was pre refurbishment but was pleasant enough. Small dated bathroom. We saw the refurbished rooms and they were very stylish with lovely bathrooms too. Breakfast was very good. We found the public rooms dated. We were confused by the downstairs bar, in the middle of refurbishment too? A nice seaside hotel with real potential, I would stay again once updated.

I have to agree with an earlier review as we feel the twin bed room is too expensive at £ 90 a night. It is half a room. The hotels plan is to reunite the halves and make a suite will make it an amazing room, MEANWHILE however, the twin beds in the room are, and can only be, positioned at right angles to eachother! ( In our opinion it would be more appropriate (though slightly less profitable) for this , and any similar rooms to be offered for SINGLE occupancy, pending the refurbishment.
Otherwise, I would mention that the mirror over the ‘dressing table’ is too high to use without standing, tv buttons didn’t work, nowhere to place shampoo bottles in the shower, and though there was a fabulous sea view, there was insufficient space to place the one chair the room had for us to admire it.
This hotel has a lot to recommend it, It looks good from the outside, it’s position is superb, staff all friendly, and breakfast was ok, Do not expect to park at the hotel though - it is too small and very cramped. I am sure that like us, most guests will pay a further £8 a day at the rectory car park conveniently just round the corner.

We enjoyed Tenby and do not regret staying at the Giltar, but the accommodation we had was over priced especially as there are many other hotels nearby.

We were attending a black tie dinner at the hotel on the Saturday night. Being a bit of a treck from surrey we arranged to meet friends on the Friday and stay an extra night. Our room was on the fourth floor with a sea view and had been recently refurbished, the room was spotlessly clean the bed was comfortable, but we lacked water pressure in the shower. Also we had the inconvenience of an interconnecting door with next room, which meant we could hear their tv quite clearly
That aside the staff were fantastic and the food was great, The dinner we had on the Saturday would rate as one of the best event meals I have ever had, comparable with top London hotels .

We were so impressed with the location that we decided to stay for a third night , the hotel offered us a free upgrade to a suite for our last night to make up for the nuisance of the connecting door I will defiantly be returning when the hotel has completed its refurb.

Room Tip: the lower floor suites are definatley worth the extra money

We have just spent a wonderful 3 days at this hotel. It was a much needed break. The staff were absolutely fantastic in accommodating my husband's requirements due to his illness. The room was spotless, with the most fantastic views in all directions. We had a massive comfy bed, also a seating area to enjoy the views from our room. The bathroom had a shower and big deep bath. The shower was not very powerful, and was the only thing we can think of that could be improved. The meals and service were top notch, also the staff were so friendly, they really made you feel like you were special.

My husband and I stayed here when he took part in the ironman. It's located on the finish line and just a stone's throw from registration so would definitely recommend to future participants (room to store bikes, porridge/pasta at 4am all no trouble!). Aside from that, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was good and the hotel is a short walk to Tenby town centre. Our room had not been refurbished, which was made clear both on booking and again at check in. It was fine though. Decor a bit dated with a small bathroom but very clean and we weren't there to spend much time in the room anyway. Beautiful views across the bay.

We stayed at this hotel with our walking group for 3 nights in September. The service from alll the staff was great, the Management and the rest of the staff were very helpful. The waiters in the restaurant were especially good, nothing too much trouble. The food was very good, and served very quickly. Some of the rooms were a bit small, but the refurbished rooms were much better. The views from the rooms overlooking the sea front was excellent, overlooking Caldy Island. We have already decided to stay there again next year, when we were assured all the rooms would be refurbished. Great walks in the Tenby area, would recommend Stackpole, The Dale, the walk from Tenby to Saundersfoot I would say was challenging!!

This hotel is in a great location on the sea front. It is in the process of being renovated so there are rooms which have been refurbished and those which haven't. The front of the hotel could do with a lick of paint. Although clean I thought £86 for a very ordinary (not refurbished) small room was too much. The staff, however, were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was OK. The car park at the back has limited space so arrive early!
