The Imperial Tenby Hotel

Get more than what you pay for, room fair, food very good, magnificent views but Tenby is not the place to go if you want to go on the beach often , as the hotels and promenade are at top of cliffs , looking down onto beach..

Room Tip: Upgrade rooms look great, but nothing wrong with smaller room

Thanks for your review at your recent stay at the Imperial, I am glad you enjoy the food, room and the magnificent views the Imperial and Tenby have to offer. The Imperial and the Promenade are on the cliff due to the tides. Hope you visit us again soon. Regards, Simon

Just returned from a 3 night break. The hotel itself is in a stunning location and we had a sea view room which had amazing views. The rooms at the front of the hotel however look onto a wall and have no views at all.
Our room was really spacious, one of the biggest rooms we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in some huge rooms in America, Australia and Singapore!) but was in need of refurb and updating. The bathroom was adequate, but had no shower and was also in need of a refurb. My understanding is that some rooms have been refurbed, some are still to be done, so I would certainly return again on the basis that all rooms will eventually be updated.
The breakfast was great and we found the staff in the restaurant to be very friendly. The communal areas were clean and the outdoor patio area looks like it was being updated too, with new planters, painting furniture etc.
The car park looked very tight and we watched a couple of guests manoeuvring their cars out with a bit of difficulty. We didn't park there, we found a free space on the next street.
We would definitely stay here again and loved Tenby as a place with lovely beaches.
We would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: We stayed in room 30, which after refurb, would be amazing

Stayed in this hotel overnight. The reception staff are really helpful and friendly. The location is fab.The hotel itself badly needs updating.Rooms are very old fashioned but must note spotlessly clean. The terrace overlooking the beach is beautiful.Breakfast is good cereals etc but you order your cooked breakfast which is very sparingly one sausage one bacon hash brown egg and a spoonful of beans.
This hotel could charge a fortune if it was completely revamped because of its location.

Just come back from a wonderful holiday at Imperial. Thank you to Simon and his team for looking after us so well, and thank you Simon for answering our questions about next years booking. Food and service in restaurant was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed all our meals. We will book again for next year as soon as Coast & Country allow us to do so!! The sea view supplement is definitely worth the money.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room which costs extra but is worth it.

the location of the hotel is first class, very helpfull staff, at times i found the staff forgetful though, the young lad who sat as for breakfast and evening food , i found rude, and not as total ease, looked uncomfortable and very nervous. I dont think that the restaurant is ran too well. The rooms were nice, a few small parts than could sorted, a crack here and there, or a small bit of dirt, but that was not the problem for me, with the view which the restaurant have i beleive the food and manager needs to make the customers appreciate there time and make them feel more welcoming when first meeting, and through out the visit

Superb location easy to get to all the amenities. The reception staff were very helpful, we parked at the multi storey car park, which was not ideal as it was raining, but we still had a great stay. We had a super view from our room which was very comfortable and clean, only needed updating, as shower needed more power. The gulls could be a bit noisy in the morning only to be expected if staying next to the beach. The Hotel manager Simon was brilliant and all the staff very friendly. We would definitely stay at this great hotel again.

Stayed here 29/7 to 2/8/2013, wonderful position on cliff overlooking beach with views to fort and the islands. Room suffered by having no opening windows, a bit claustrophobic but had a door to terrace but could not leave this open. Food was good, varied choice, service good. Bar staff not really au fait with things, ordered tea for two people, paid for two, but only got one pot with two cups, advise asking for one, paying then order another, pay for two get two, also waiter was unable to add up, two teas £3.40, two pieces of cake £2.90 total £6.30, was charged £7.10, waiter could not understand so decided to forgo 80p, too much bother for 80p, but beware check what you are being charged. Reception could be kept up-to-date re public transport, walk to bus station to look at bus stops not really useful if you want to go to the zoo or such like. But other than the niggles above, would recommend this hotel and Tenby, wonderful beach (could be Portugal), boat trips, selection of one off shops, plenty places to eat and drink - give it a visit.

Room Tip: Back of hotel, overlooks beach.
