“Fantastic Break”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Stayed for a two night break and found the hotel and staff excellent. The room was one of the best
clean and the view was absolutely fantastic, looking over the south beach and further to Caldy island. The food choice was very good and also the entertainment. Parked the car at the multi- storey car park which is only a five minute walk from the hotel [no spaces left at hotel] and only cost two pounds for twenty four hours. We had such a good break we are considering returning very shortly.

Room Tip: If you can ask for room three which is excellent, roomy and the view is out of this world.

I stayed here over the bank holiday weekend, the hotel is in the perfect location to explore Tenby overlooking the beach, close to the town centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was a little slow with different excuses each morning from problems with the gas to being busy.

This was by far the best hotel we have had on a tour. We had 5 wonderful days at the Imperial hotel in tenby. We were on a Shearings holiday. The food was 1st class, our room was really comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The only fault with it was whilst we had entertainment two nights which was very good, the other nights were dead not even background music and those who didn't go out finished up going to their rooms to watch TV. Another nice touch was we were all promised a table looking out over the sea for dinner in turn. We had two trips out and a free day to explore Tenby. There are some lovely little shops and the beaches were so clean. Well done Shearings it was really good value.

Stayed here August '13 for three nights with a school and college friend. Both had single rooms facing the sea -well worth the extra cost. Staff very friendly . Restaurant staff excellent. Food great for the money. we shall certainly not hesitate to return at some time.

Get more than what you pay for, room fair, food very good, magnificent views but Tenby is not the place to go if you want to go on the beach often , as the hotels and promenade are at top of cliffs , looking down onto beach..

Room Tip: Upgrade rooms look great, but nothing wrong with smaller room

Day trip to Tenby looking for a spot of lunch overlooking the sea.
We walked in from the street and asked if the bar was open to non-residents. Yes sir it is. Good start.......... Height of season - hotel in prime town centre location - very few people about other than the older generation (we are in our 50s). Warning signs.........
The hotel has a feeling of a run down establishment that has seen better days and in need of some much needed TLC.
We decided to have a drink and stop for lunch on the roof top terrace overlooking the sea (all sounds great so far).
Large Pinot Grigot please i ask. Sorry sir we only have the Stowford wines on tap. A hotel without wine bottles am i on another planet!, Zinfadel duly ordered (no Pinot).
Shandy for me - no problems.
Food ordered - menu seems reasonable if unspectacular. I had to walk to reception to pay by card?!?!
Out onto the roof terrace - what a disappointment, A lovely sunny afternoon with a few sparsely placed tables and chairs in need of a bit of love and nowhere to hide from the shade. Guest bedrooms doors opened onto the terrace area. All very sparse with little thought as to how to make this a much more welcoming and functional space.
Food arrives in good time - and to be fair was reasonable i had ham and mustard sandwich, Tina had the Chicken Ceaser Salad which she said was 'ok'.
Ok - food over time for a pit stop and onward travel. OMG what a state the toilets are in. Usable yes - Acceptable no. See pics.
This hotel has huge potential. Please please please whoever owns this hotel make an effort and financial investment and spruce the place up. Make it more welcoming and particular put a sign out side to say that non residents are welcome!!

Many thank to post a review at your day trip to Tenby and to the Imperial. I can only apologize about the service received and thanks to bring these things to my attention. We have a sign to the side of the front to point out non-resident are welcome but we also have now a new sign right at the front of the hotel entrances with information of the hotel including non-resident are welcome. We do have house wine by the glass and we serve them on a 125ml (small), 175ml (medium) & 250ml (large) glasses of wine or you can buy a bottle from our wine list. We have new tills at the bar area and now you can pay at the bar as this was not install up to a later date in august so we can only apologize for the inconveniences to walk to the reception. We are looking to refurbish a new floor and big umbrellas later this year with new furniture as part of our refurbish plan at the hotel. The toilet issue in the gents toilet has been rectified, as during the date we check the toilet every two hours but is also a sign in each toilet that mention if this toilets are not clean to please report to reception as a customer did and I apologise for any inconvenience at the time. I and the team did look into the points you have raised and when these things are brought to our attention we try to deal with them as quickly and efficiently as possible.I do hope that you choose to come back again and I am positive you will see a remarkable improvement. Regards, Simon
