Stayed at the gumfreston with friends from Holland. It was my first long journey since i had a stroke. Helen was there to meet the train, and because it was late made sure i has a hot meal. I soon felt at home can recommend this hotel to anyone. Helen could not do enough for me. the room was clean and had all i needed. the breakfast was very good, and i had a good choice. tenby is my second home now. i only wish i could have stayed longer. i hope to return next month to see all my friends. Please when in tenby give this hotel a try.

we stayed at gumfeston this weekend and had a great time. very welcoming, great plentiful breakfast, clean rooms. Only a stones throw to the beach and pubs yet far away so there's no noice disturbance. would definately visit again.

Good points

Location lovely - very close to the beach and town centre, everything you needed within a two minute walk from the front door.

Hostess was also lovely - very friendly. And it is very reasonably priced.

Excellent night's sleep - peaceful location, and comfy bed.

Good shower!

Bad points

Dated to say the least - furniture in particular had seen better days and looked like would fall apart on touch (although didn't!) Bathroom suite also old as indicated by the beige colour. Felt like stepping back in time.

Breakfast was not great - didn't bother with it every morning, but when I did, Orange juice tasted watery, service taciturn and slow, food cheap and greasy. Fresh fruit was available as were yoghurts which were appreciated.

WiFi didn't work in the rooms - too weak a signal. Annoying when a cheap booster would sort this out easily.

Not by any means dirty, but could have been cleaner - stuff like dust on all the ledges in the room and bathroom made it feel like it hadn't been deep cleaned in a while only surface cleaned.

All in all, OK, but wouldn't stay again: next trip to tenby I will try somewhere else.

This friendly B&B is located so close to the beach and the town centre, it takes just minutes to reach either - yet what a peaceful nights sleep. It was so quiet in the street at night we never heard a sound, wonderful. The landlady Helen, is great, such a happy friendly person, and someone who nothing was too much trouble for. She was really helpful with local knowledge, suggestions of places to visit and general information, and her breakfast took some beating!! After a meal like that we found we didn't need to eat again all day until we had our evening meal, except for maybe a cake or snack in the afternoon. There is no parking in the street, but a huge car park just round the corner was perfect, and very reasonably priced. We certainly felt it is great value for money and would certainly stay again.

We had 2 nights in this B & b 150 metres from the clifftop and 300 metres from the bars and restaurants in the centre. As all previous feedback, Helen was a mind of information and we did see 75% of what she recommended - and glad we did.
We did book a double but had a family room - it was a bit of a squeeze (fortunately we didnt have children) so it did not matter. It was clean and for breakfast you could have as little or as much as you liked- excellent. It did have a bar but presumably because it was quiet it was not open - no doubt a quick call and it would have been opened.
Recommend the Buccaneer Inn in the centre of Tenby for a meal - great quantity and good value - especially the Lamb Shank.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip in March 2012.
Wasn't here for long (about 12 hours in total) as I got here late and left early.
People were nice enough and breakfast was nice too.
