“Nice and friendly, but a bit drab!”
Reviewed 14 August 2010

The hotel staff were very friendly and carried our bags up to our room, which was nicely decorated with all the basic facilities. I did feel that it was a little overpriced, only for the fact that we didn't have breakfast included, the room smelt like damp, and you could see that they'd covered it up with wall paper. The bedding and towels were lovely and the bathroom was clean with hot water. Overall I would recommend it, but only for the fact it's well located and the staff are very friendly. Alot could be done to make it better though! And there was no where to park, which was quite frustrating!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Thank you for your positive comments regarding the staff, bedding, towels and cleanliness. With regards to the pricing we do also offer a Bed & Breakfast rate for an additional £5.00 per person per night. You rightly point out that we don't have parking which is also stated on our website, brochure and other booking sites, and we direct all cars after unloading and check in to The North Beach Car Park which is £2.00 a day and a short walk away. Apologies for the damp smell - we haven't knowingly papered over any damp and I shall have to investigate this further.
Once again thank you for your feedback and we hope to welcome you back on a future occasion. Kind Regards, Richard

Friendly enough staff if you have been living in an old peoples home, very patronising. Were told when could go for main course of evening meal, had to take it in turns, mashed potato was SMASH and soup powdered. (I think all food had been counted out) pity help it if you asked for an extra sausage, someone else would have to miss out. Rooms very small and very out dated, this old building would look fab with an overhaul. Nightly entertainment, well. OAP comes to mind. Loved Tenby, will come back but to another Hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, however very disappointing that you could not bring your dissatisfaction to my attention during your stay so that I may have been able to address any issues that you had whilst you were at the hotel. It is true that different people have different expectations as there is a review headed 'Albany all round good trip' from guests on the same coach tour that week. For those that may travel down with National Holidays reading this review please note the following: The main courses are served from the carvery unit and we invite guests up table by table so as to avoid guests having to queue unnecessarily. At Breakfast we offer a choice of 5 hot items from our Breakfast selection to our coach party guests and therefore if you want more than 1 sausage that is of course no problem. Our rooms do vary in size due to it being an older building and we allocate rooms in order of booking and also to guests special requirements. Evening entertainment is a mixture of Bingo, Singer and Quiz etc....

Sorry that we did not meet with your expectations on this occasion. Kind Regards, Richard

Being a budget break our expectations were realistic as to what to expect. But what a surprise The staff were great especially Richard and Tracey who were genuinely friendly and helpful ( being disabled this was really appreciated) Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Our room was clean and well furnished The Hotel Inspector would have been proud of the decor. Our cases were delivered to our room and whipped away to the coach on departure. Mealtimes were well organised with super efficient service. Even as a fussy eater I found something to my taste all but 1 night but Tracey came to the rescue for me bless her. Altogether a wonder ful stay even the weather was good.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review - very refreshing for someone to take the time to compliment as unfortunately most people only write about the negative experiences that they have! We thoroughly enjoyed looking after you and hope that you are able to visit on a future occasion. Kind Regards, Richard.
