“A tenby gem”
Reviewed 11 May 2009

We recently took some friends from out of the area to the Blue Ball for dinner. It was a busy Saturday night but the service was prompt and attentive.
The food was delicious - the bream was excellent and the chocolate pot finished off the meal nicely.
There is a good range of wines and I'd recommend the sparking pinot grigio
Enjoyed it thoroughly and have re-booked for this weekend with some different friends from away.

“Stumble Upon the Blue Ball Restaurant in Tenby...”
Reviewed 2 May 2009

After a week's Easter break in beautiful Tenby, Pembrokeshire, we stumbled upon 'The Blue Ball Restaurant' in the cobbled Upper Frog Street.
The restaurant is easy to miss, sadly we only spotted it on our last night in Tenby. It is definitely a restaurant that we would return to and wish we had known about it earlier. The food is just fantastic, imaginative and well presented and all the puddings are homemade and mouth watering, especially the Chocolate Pot!!

Once you have found the Blue Ball you will never want to go anywhere else in Tenby. We go at least once each visit. The food is delicious and great service especially the head waiter Paul.

“disappointed”
Reviewed 17 April 2009

Having read the brilliant reviews on this restaurant we went in last night with high expectations but was let down by the value and quality of the food presented. My wife ordered a salad which was the smallest she has ever seen, but it was beautifully arranged. This was followed by two fish cakes which came out burnt, mis-shaped and lacking in flavour, not worth the £9 we were charged for it. My mussels starter was OK, would have been better if the mussels were cooked with the creamy sauce rather than it being put in later under the mussels in the bowl. This was later followed by their famous 'meatballs' ... very simple, could not taste any seasoning apart from one or two whole peppercorns left in the meatballs. The meatballs came with onion gravy, nice mash topped with dry peas pretending to be a puree!
The service, lets just say we were ignored...the welcome from the waiter was lovely but that was all that we saw of him, he was too busy chatting with regular customers and no one questioned why I did not eat two out of three meatballs...oh well I am sure there are other good restaurants in Tenby...lets hope I can find one!
