The Fairfield Hotel is on Southport's promenade and the location of a three night stay for my wife and I this June. It has about eight or nine en-suite rooms and ours was probably furnished to a higher standard then many three star establishments. Certainly furnishings and fittings are of very high quality and the bedroom, lounge and breakfast room are large and spotless.
Although called an hotel they only serve breakfast, no lunch or dinner so it's an up -market bed and breakfast in reality. As Southport has lots of good pubs and restaurants it wasn't a problem and we had been told beforehand.
The owners are very pleasant and seemed happy to supply porridge for breakfast which wasn't on the breakfast menu.
We would happily have paid more for this location and standard.
