Surroundings are great and the breakfasts are fabulous.Rooms nice.Tv not in the best position to see from the bed.If you decide to have the meal deal at the Auberge, and I wouldnt, there are a couple of things you need to know. One, the proprietor of the Aubrge will ring you on a Sunday in a threatening manner as the factual 2 star review has enraged him.Actually I have no way of knowing if this is a habit, but that's what happened to us.Two.This will be the first time you know that the restaurant have been given your ex directory home no.as the hotel made The booking. The angry man on the phone will claim he got it at the time of booking, from the hotel.Because the hotel have ignored questions about this I am unable to clarify. So if you don't want your Data used in this way be very careful.

I stayed here with my 5 year old daughter, my friend and her 5 year old son for a long weekend. Kathy and Tony were very welcoming and friendly. They got the balance just right of being there if you needed them and giving you your own independence. The rooms were lovely as were the breakfasts. The B&B was in a great location for the beach, pier, shops and restaurants.
I would definitely recommend this B&B and will stay there again.

Room tip: Walking distance to all the amenities

We stayed for a long weekend and were delighted with The Ambassador Townhouse. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the rooms are very well appointed. Tony welcomed us and showed us to our room. The room itself was lovely with everything we needed for a weekend stay. Kathy cooks an excellent breakfast , there was a good choice on offer and in addition there are juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, seeds, nuts and dried fruit - a better selection than in many hotels. Tony is there ready to bring extra portions of butter etc and tea and coffee refills are delivered very quickly. The Townhouse is an easy walk to a good variety of shops and eating houses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend a stay with Tony and Kathy to anyone thinking of going to Southport

It's always difficult when you've stayed somewhere before, and the place has changed hands. In this case, the previous owner Tracie was a very hard act to follow. New owners are trying hard, some further attention to detail is needed, but it was noted that we use more butter, and we like a mix of brown and white toast, and the next breakfast that was addressed, which was nice. However, menu choice is more limited, particularly for vegetarians, although the pancake stack is fabulous. TV in bedroom not in the best place, and placing damp towels on the rail, by necessity on top of one another somewhat, means they are not going to dry. Also, I don't share a towel, so when that's been done, I don't know which was mine! Also, tip, don't go to the Auberge for a meal. It used to be good, but not so now.

This hotel is wonderful. The hosts Tony and Kathie are lovely people who care for your every need whilst not being overbearing.
The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless and well stocked with quality extras that you just don't get at other hotels.
The breakfast is superb. Well cooked by Kathie and served by Tony who is always smiling and takes care to check that everything is to your liking aswell as topping up your tea and coffee if required. I must mention that the breakfast mushrooms are the best I've ever tasted in my life!!
The hotel is well situated between the shops, bars and restaurants one way and the prom and pier the other way.
All in all we had a lovely weekend break made all the better by staying at the Ambassador. Highly recommended!!
