Cannot fault our room on fifth floor with view of sea and marina - would stay again in Room 516 although quite a walk to the lifts which were constantly busy .This room was quiet , spacious and very clean .Well stocked with nice toiletries and hair dryer . Milk stored in the fridge and a generous selection of tea and coffee. T.V channels quite limited ,was slightly reduced freeview range.
Didn't venture across the road to swimming pool -walked past the venue and noticed it was quite an old shabby building , but gym on 2nd floor of this hotel had enough machines for a good work out and the room has T.V and cold water machine.
Meals ... buffet breakfast was excellent with everything you could imagine , staff polite and attentive. Dinner was lovely but a bit of a wait to be served and 10 mins wait between courses , although muttered there was a different chef -whoever prepared and cooked ours = full marks.
Now my moans which I suppose is more constructive criticism.
Reception staff were very very polite and nothing was too much trouble but there was a constant queue so could have done with more of them . These lovely people were over worked.
The inconsistent pricing -. If you note a recent review where a guest paid £40 half board - well I was puzzled. We paid £128 , and a couple who also stayed on the Sat evening that we chatted to paid about £40 more than us , so on that note we are hoping for a friendly e-mail with a discount to entice us back as we were not the only guests to be a bit annoyed at the pricing system....yes it was Easter but we felt like we were cushioning somebodies bargain break.
However .....a really nice stay , fantastic bunch of staff . This hotel is very well run.

Room Tip: 516 ... quiet , good view , spacious but a bit of a walk from the lifts

Many thanks for taking the time to review the hotel here on Tripadvisor, I am delighted that you enjoyed your visit to the hotel and that the staff in particular received your praise, they are our best asset and I will pass your comments on.

I have noted you comments regarding the pricing and would point to a number of influencing factors that affect pricing for any particular night. Earlier bookings tend to get the best pricing, some days of the week will be cheaper than others and booking direct will generally get you the best deal.

We do have a an email database that regularly receives our best deals and if you have left your email details at reception you will be added to this list.

The location of this hotel is perfect as it is on the promenade and is close to all amenities.
The room and en suite we had were of a good size and were spotlessly clean as was the whole of the hotel.
The breakfast had a great deal of choice and the quality of the food was very high.
As we were on a deal the evening meal was a fixed menu with a good choice but as some of the food was too fancy for our taste we were allowed to substitute other food from the standard menu. Again the quality was very high.
At all times staff were helpful and friendly and this resulted in an extremely pleasant stay.
For anyone interested the casino next door is accessed by walking across the underground car
park and admittance is free.park

We stayed for one night in the Ramada Plaza. It was a bit more expensive but worth every penny! Our room was lovely and the staff were great. I forgot my shoes and went back to get them, staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially Sonny!! Highly recommended.

Nice hotel good location very comfortable beds but overpriced at £110.00 for room only, bar staff looked embarrassed asking for £8.00 for two bottles of sparkling water, would think twice before I booked this hotel again.

Many thanks for your recent review, I am sorry you felt that we were a little overpriced however on busy weekends our prices are very competitive with any hotel offering a similar standard of accommodation anywhere in the UK. The price for large bottles of water is very competitive also for both the area and standard of hotel.

I do hope that you have joined our mailing list and have the opportunity to avail of the many special book direct offers throughout the year.

We stayed at the Ramada Plaza for our first time on 18/04/14 and hopefully this will not be our last.
Warm and friendly staff from the lady on reception through to the housekeeping staff with their cheery greeting in the morning.
Room was spacious, immaculate and very comfortable with a lovely view over the lake.
Restaurant staff were lovely and there was a nice variety of quality meals to choose from all served with a smile.
The only criticism I have is not with the hotel but with Southport itself.... nice enough place during the day but more than dull at night.

Many thanks for the excellent review, I am delighted that you enjoyed all the the hotel had to offer and that the staff were pleasant and welcoming.

I am sure that given the opportunity I can help improve your opinion of Southport, there really is an awful lot to do in the evenings and would happily offer suggestions in the future.

A visit to Visitsouthport website may also help you plan you visit.

We stayed in the Ramada Southport before and again had a most enjoyable stay this month. This time I was even more aware of the ridiculously good value for money you can get at this hotel. Prices must be higher during English school holidays and in summer, but where else can you get a dinner, bed & breakfast deal for only £40 per adult? Kids stay for a lot less again. I don't understand how they do it, but it gave me and my family the opportunity to get away for a few days and enjoy a very comfortable break at a price we could afford.

We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious family room with comfortable beds, excellent bathroom with large soft towels, free Wifi, nice breakfast buffet, very tasty dinners and free use of the swimming pools at Victoria Leisure across the road. There is also a safe in each room, TV and a fridge, all free of charge. The underground car park is very convenient and safe and very good value at £3 per 24 hours.

Many thanks to all staff for making our stay such a pleasant one: front-of-house for answering my questions patiently, restaurant staff for their excellent service, housekeeping for their attention to detail and friendly faces and last but not least the kitchen staff for all the great evening meals!

We only stayed one night but it must have been the most comfortable hotel bed ever, and I've stayed in a few.

Meals were excellent , we spent the evening in the bar, but when we arrived earlier it was sunny and we sat and had a drink on the terrace.

Staff were excellent , we stay in Southport fairly regular for a chill out at a different hotel, but we are certainly changing to the Ramada from now on.
