We booked this direct with the hotel and were not disappointed. I wanted a nice hotel, somewhere to relax for a couple of days and I definetly got what I wanted.
I cannot fault this hotel, the staff on reception were very welcoming, the hotel was easy to find, in a great location and great parking just under the hotel.
The room was really really clean and after the first night, we had a knock on the door asking were we happy with the standards of the room being cleaned! The beds were big and comfy and all the facilities were good. I honestly cannot fault the hotel and will definetly be going back in the summer when the weather might be less windy.

We stayed recently when our friends got married in the floral hall next door (great venue for a wedding by the way). The hotel is still quite new so is modern and clean. Most of the staff were very helpful especially the gorgeous Martin! Some were slightly inexperienced especially at breakfast time, but overall polite and efficient. The only complaint OMG who designed the lifts!!! Nearly everyone we knew staying there were frustrated with them. Press down and they go up get in the right hand side and you can't get down to the car park - enough to make a saint swear!! I'm sure the staff are sick of hearing the complaints but the designer wants shooting. Overall good experience though - oh and great breakfast

We went for the annual Rotary Conference in the Next door Floral Hall complex.
Very new but very welcoming staff from the cleaners to the desk.
Only grumble we could make is that some cheapskate arranged it so that only one lift goes down to the underground car park so the two are not coordinated and it seems to be a long wait for a lift. Some people found the rooms too hot but we were just right.
It's quiet, clean, comfortable and on the front. Breakfast good although £10 with no cheaper option for "continental"

I stayed here for 2 nights with my dad as we were visiting friends in the area. The hotel was great, excellent location ,close to the shops and just a short walk to the train station which was handy.

The free underground car park was also a bonus as it meant we could leave the car for the duration of our stay and as the hotel was so central we managed to walk everywhere and not have to worry aout where the car was parked. the reception staff were very helpful, we arrived early however it was no problem and our room was availiable in under 10 minutes, we were given directionsto the car park and even offered a porter for our bags!

The hotel itself was excellent, the room was spacious with plenty of storage, we had a twin room with 2 double beds in it and still had plenty of space to move around in even with all of our cases and bags, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent, although a little high to get in and out of, im only 26 so was not too much trouble for me but if you are an older traveller or have any mobility problems I would suggest asking for one of their easy access rooms. the room also had a large TV and a fridge both of which were handy to have although we didn;t use them much, really just to keep a bottle of juice chilled and to catch the news in the morning before heading out to southport. The room we had also had a view of the lake and with it being a beautiful day when we arrived we could see as far as blackpool.

All in al an excellent hotel in a very pretty location, helpful and friendly staff, excellent facilities in the rooms and all at a very reasonable price.

What a great hotel this is.
We stayed for one night only (that was my only disappointment) and were absolutely thrilled with this hotel.
We have stayed in many hotels around the world and this one is by far the best so far.
We booked a twin room and I must say that the room was very tastefully decorated and overall excellent. The room was large and spacious, with two double beds (instead of the usual two singles) which was a real bonus. There was a 32" flat screen TV in the room and the ensuite bathroom was also very spacious and clean.
Lovely white fluffy towels and crisp white bed linen on very comfortable beds, with the added bonus of air conditioning and WiFi access. Underground secure hotel garage parking - all you would expect from a quality hotel.
This hotel was great value for money as we booked through late rooms and secured the room for £60 (usual rate is £190).
Highly recommended and can't wait to stay again.

Good hotel , you can usually guarantee with Ramada good standards even if because of the size slightly souless . However it does have its eccentricities to keep you on your toes e.g Entrance ground floor, reception 1st floor , only one lift services the free underground car park .

Reception staff polite and positive though room key didnt work when we got to room so I had to trek back for them to do it properly.

Room itself well appointed with everything you need either as a business or leisure guest. Clean room ,good standards of housekeeping with enough staff to ensure that that rooms was ready by mid morning.

Breakfast primarily buffet but also a la carte menu , very good buffet selection well prepared, hot , particularly liked the black pudding and sausages.

Very well situated ,as other reviews have mentioned , it is right in the centre of Southport with Lord St ,the pier , the lake , the theatre and most of the other attractions e.g restaurants, amusement arcades all within easy walking distance.

Only criticism it was expensive for a provincial town but there is very little competition from any of the other big hotel groups so the alternatives are locally owned hotels , where you can either take pot luck or trust other trip advisor reviewers. However the rate didnt stop it being full for the 2 nights we were there

The Ramada Plaza is situated right on the promenade of Southport adjacent to the bridge and the longest pier that I have ever seen it is also very conveniently situated for the local shopping and nightlife. On arrival I had to ask someone for directions to the underground car park as it is not signposted very well but is very convenient and free parking is always a bonus. From the car park you can directly access the Hotel either by stairs or via the lift. It is strange that you have to go to the first floor to go to reception as there is only an empty room with a lift on the ground floor that leads on to the promenade. This aside when we arrived at reception we were greeted with a smile and even though we were quite early the receptionist who was very polite and professional found us a room that was vacant and allowed us to check in. She also explained where everything could be found and informed us that we could always book anything else as required. The hotel itself was very impressive with all areas looking clean and comfortable and a nice outdoor area with tables and chairs where you could sit and watch the world go by.
When we got to our room we had a nice view of the lake and further on to Blackpool.
On to the room as you would expect from an hotel of this kind very clean and bright with a very comfortable bed and a very nice duvet, sleeping was no problem also helped by a nice quiet location. There was a good sized LCD TV with all freeview channels plenty of storage space and not only Tea/Coffee making facilities but also a refrigerator tucked away in a cupboard beneath the TV ideal for cooling drinks. The bathroom was very nice with an excellent shower. We did not eat in the hotel but I was told by other guests that the food was good and quite reasonably priced.
This was our first time in Southport and very different to what was expected nothing like Blackpool. The town is a lot cleaner and more tasteful not full of tat shops and a whole lot cleaner with nice places to eat and drink but with still plenty to do including a boating lake ,pitch and putt course and a fair that is positioned out of the way. There is also a good selection of shops bars and places to eat.
All in all we were well impressed with both the Ramada Plaza and Southport and look forward to visiting again.
