Totally agree with dianahoohar. Booked because of good reviews but it was only an ok B and B. Clean, etc which should be taken as read, breakfast was till 9 on Sunday which seemed very early. Two pieces of toast between three for breakfast although more provided when asked, no choice of juice, cereal and some fruit available. Cooked breakfast very average...not sure what other reviewers had but could hardly be described be the best in Southport!
The owner knocked on our door bang on 11 to see if we were ready leave, At £99 for 3 adults it seemed pricey as we are soon to say at Sheffield Novotell for same price with all their buffet breakfast has to offer.

We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. Only two of your party came for breakfast. We provide toast on demand so that it is hot. There is no limit to the amount you can have. We always ask if customers would like more throughout breakfast. I apologise if you felt that you were being limited. We believe that we provide a good value for money stay and a good quality breakfast with a friendly service. Check out time is 10.30am as stated. However we are always prepared to be flexible should a customer require us to be.

Le Maitre is an unpretentious B&B in an excellent location for both shopping in Main St or strolling on the promenade.Very welcoming owners who could not do more to make our stay comfortable and hassle free. Breakfast must be the best in Southport , cooked to order in unlimited amounts, even to the home made toasted Muesli.
We have stayed in this small hotel several times and find the gradual up grading has been tasteful and unobtrusive.
As global travellers we find that it is a delight not to have one thing to complain about.

We must have missed something. The reviews are glowing, which is why we booked here. There is nothing really to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. Yes, the rooms were clean and the bed linen fresh - but I would expect that from any b & b. We booked 2 rooms. Breakfast options were not offered, although we were asked on arrival if we wanted breakfast. Our room only had a very small frosted window in it, making it rather depressing - even on a bright day. Breakfast was adequate, as was the service. Beds were comfortable. A short walk to Lord Street. Nice enough, but nothing special. Perhaps we've been spoilt before with excellent B&Bs such as the Warwick Lodge in Carlisle.

We are very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We try very hard to provide what each customer requires. There is a full breakfast menu in each of the rooms, in the guest information folder and also on the breakfast tables, I apologise if this was not pointed out to you.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Our second visit, and will be back again. Room very clean and spacious, breakfast very good, and the owners as friendly and helpful as ever. in a good location for Southport, yet still quiet, and with off street parking.

Wonderful welcome by Rachel and David. Shown to our room which was really big and very clean. Rachel even bought us up a complimentry tray with a mug of Tea and coffee.
we stayed 2 nights and had an evening meal. which we enjoyed especially Rachels homemade soup. nothing was to much trouble.
Very good breakfast and all done to order checked evening before what we would like cooked.
Flexible times when we could eat and had the evening meal at a time that suited us which was excellent. David told us all the places we could visit in the town and area .We slept well and there was no noise from other guests coming or going. Had a great Relaxing weekend.
Will be back for another visit.

Room Tip: Best room is room 4

Nothing was too much trouble for Rachel and David - they recommended two very good restaurants and were very helpful. The bedroom was clean and the bed very very comfortable with lovely crisp white linen - bliss!

The breakfast was yummy

Can't wait to go back - Southport is a good place for a 'chill-out' weekend!
