“NO GOOD IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

Just spent a week at the scarisbrick hotel. The hotel is very noisey in the morning with a loud noise coming from some sort of fan from about 7am and staff shouting at each other in the corridors plus there is two pubs underneath the hotel where people can sit outside as we where working on nights it wasnt sutibale for us..The rooms are well dated and could do with some money getting spend on them but they where clean.A plus point was we had a do not desturb sign on the door so no one knocked on our door but left clean towels and coffe and tea in a bag on the door. The breakfast was good with self service buffet all in all even if i was on a weekend break it woud still be too nosiey and the rooms too dated.I think its more suited for pensioners i will not be going back

we were given room 408 at a discount price of £50.00 for b & b, the room was really dated and somehow mismatched with the decor and bed linen, i couldn't close the bathroom window and there was a function going on in the pub below, people were going outside for ciggie breaks talking and laughing and in the early hours men were in the corridor being generally noisy, the breakfast was really nice and the staff were lovely, i don't wish to be negative about southport as there has obviously been a great deal of money and restoration put into place there, the front is really lovely and i've never seen as many swans in one place.

Room Tip: check the room before you pay

We found the service in the restaurant to be 1st class. The portions were also extremely generous even for my big appetite.

The rooms were comfortable but it was quite noisy with doors closing. Town as stated in brochure is lively at night so could affect your sleep

We enjoyed our stay here, staff were friendly, helpful & happy to help. Restaurant/Breakfast room was nice, the breakfast was great as we were pleasantly given our choices of drinks. The food was buffet style where you go and fetch your own food ie eggs, bacon, sausages, beans. There was also a large selection of cereals. Nightlife was great, rooms were slightly dated but quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean, however if i was being picky would say that some tiles were cracked & discoloured, but that didn't stop us having a good time!

Love Southport, and the location of the hotel is good, but don't stay at the back of the hotel the noise from the Hotels own bar is overwhelming it was 3am before we got to sleep.
we booked through Venere.com we phoned the hotel by chance on the morning of our arrival to check about parking we were then advised there was no booking, Advised I had a confirmed booking reference I was told there was no room booked and to check with the booking company with it being 8am on a Sunday this was going to be impossible I was told
they did have a room and would check this out with their 3rd party at 9am
We decided to travel anyway and when we arrived I was told the booking had been made
the previous week but not passed to them?
We booked into our room at 10.30am but could not view the room until 2pm, but we had to pay the full balance upfront all in all not a good start .
the room was nice ,but on entering at 2pm the noise was unbelievable the music from below vibrated into the room, I rang reception straight away and was told it was a function and would be over by 8pm at the latest.
We believed them unpacked and went out to enjoy the resort.
arriving back at 10.45pm to yes you've guessed it to the same noise!
I phoned to reception and was told the manager would come to our room, he duly arrived with another room to offer but advised it was the same noise that we were hearing and we would also be disturbed from 6am from the kitchen fans and that it was common knowledge that due to the location it was known to be a noisy hotel? that it was the clubs around and he would speak to them.
The noise dropped slightly for about 20 minutes and then went back to vibrating in the room.
The noise was definitely internal from their own premises, I know this because I went to check .
If we had not have been given inaccurate information at 2pm we would have asked for our Money back and gone elsewhere, we don't mind a certain amount of noise and would expect this in a town centre hotel, but this was a noise level never experienced before, I think the issue lies with the fact that the section were we were put is a newer extension and is immediately above The Scaribrick`s own fun pub.
I wish we weren't so tired in the Morning to have enjoyed the excellent breakfast when the hotel took on a more sedate atmosphere.
This would have been a hotel we would have visited on a regular basis, but unfortunately
we do like some sleep!

Room Tip: Ask if your getting a noisy room?
