“Wouldn't Recommend”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

I booked this hotel for my parents who been through alot of health issues as a surprise. I booked bed and breakfast and evening meal and one night stay. I also paid an extra £20.00 to upgrade there room to the double executive suite. OMG this room wasnt ready when they arrived so the hotel put them in a different room which apparently was better with four poster bed. OMG the room was very dated with much need of decorating. There was a shower as stated but this was attached to the tap with no where to hang it from so you could get a proper shower, considering this was an upgrade on the double executive room god knows what standard that would have been. The evening meal was a buffett style with no much selection and food wasnt appealing at all, which was the same with the breakfast the next day. They will not be returning here and would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Dont go there

Beware !!!!
After I booked this hotel, I called the Brittania Hotels call centre to ask for my booking (in a months time) to be changed to a later date as something important has come up
They tell me they need a payment of £15 to change the booking !!!!!! What a rip....
£15 to push a few buttons
Great customer service....NOT
Oh, and they operate a 10p per min phone line to do all this on
You have been warned....
The hotel itself is a run down, dirty flea ridden pit
It's best bar serves ALL drinks in plastic glasses....says it all
Seems that all Brittania hotels never have money spent on them, yes rooms are cheap (ish) but will never book one of their hotels again
Have you noticed their Tripadviser scores are always average to low
Stay away

After reading some horrific reviews about the hotel, we were expecting worst.......
Cant believe that people can complain about it, the room was clean and the breakfast was good and plentiful for the price we paid.
Yes it could do with a bit of a spruce up but it didn't spoil our overnight stay one little bit

Room really good big but tired.... food excellent staff in restaurant friendly and helpful....
however we over the club and music blasting until 3 a.m OMG noisey if you are a heavy sleeper go for it. It was handy for shops and lots of bars and other hotels. One problem if you leave your luggage it is put in a room upstairs but not locked they try to deter you from using
left luggage service..... also car park was full as soon as we got there so you have to hike to
find one ... go to the old hospital site and park in the street best value??

My husband booked our 1 nights stay at the Scarisbrick. Having read the reviews I was not really looking forward to it. On arriving I was pleased that we easily got a Free Parking space at the rear of the Hotel. We requested a room away from the noise of the disco, although it was not a room with a view (overlooking the car park) must say we had a good nights sleep, the room was basic but clean. Bathroom very small with nowhere to put soap bag.
Joined in the Quiz in the Hotel bar. The quiz master made it quite entertaining. The "deal" did not include any meals so I cannot comment on the Hotel food.
OK , got what we paid for. Probably not go back though.

Room Tip: Quiet towards rear of Hotel. Overlooking car park. Our room 130 was a "quiet" room but up...
