This Hotel is advertised as disabled but really does not have the right facilities..it also says there is entertainment on every night but there is nothing on on Saturday nights for families also the singer what was on was in a room which you had to go up '6' steps to get up..how do they expect a disabled person to get up there is beyond me!! The manager even asked 'does she want lifting up the stairs?!' We was fuming! Health & safety obviously wasn't a issue for them! They put my nan in a so called disabled room which had the facilities for using the toilet but not to get in the shower this was over the bath & not a walk in bath so again how do they expect a disabled person to use this! We also got told the pool would be open but it wasn't open all day Sunday so there was nothing to do again also there is no lounge area where you can have a nice relaxing drink as there is no where open in the hotel..I would really recommend you stay away from this hotel..don't be fooled by what it states on the internet! Thanks guys hope this helps

just had a weekend at this hotel and I am not impressed when we arrived we were told there were no parking spaces available,The bar in the hotel is rank(very dirty) we had no milk coffee or tea in the room on the second day when we asked for some we were told they would send some to the room (never turned up) the good bits are as follows the room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast was very nice but if I go back to Southport I will be staying at another hotel

Good location but the hotel is very tired. The breakfast was very good. The room was very hot and was disappointed that there was no matress cover only sheet. Reception area is very dirty. We found out that you had to pay for the leisure facilities and was told they were closed at 4pm on Saturday.

Room Tip: Top floor.

Staff at reception polite and well informed. Restaurant staff were abrupt and hurried. Maybe it was because of it being self-service in the restaurant, which was not big enough to accommodate the number of guests.
The room was big in size and the beds clean. They were the positive things.
The room did not appear to have been properly dusted or vacuumed recently and the shower tray had black mould around the edges.
The hotel location is very central for all of Southport's amenities. The only hotel amenity which we used were one of the bars. The one which we used was OK, but some of the others might be described as having character. In my opinion they needed a good dose of TLC. I believe the hotel has a pool, but as there was no sort of guide to the hotel available in the room, we were none the wiser.
The location of the hotel is in my view the only good thing about it.
The negatives of the poorly cleaned room, the feeling of being rushed in the self-service restaurant and the poor quality of the food let it down badly.
Britannia Hotels must spend some time and money on what could be a much better holiday stopover!

Room Tip: Don't choose one above the entrances to the three hotel public bars. We had 210. Noisy in small...

Well arrived here on the night for....9pm. Expecting to get a car parking space... only a few spaces out the back so ended up in a pay an display. Walked down a dodgy alley at side of hotel to front entrance an as about to walk in hotel 3 beggars were asking for money. We did not feel safe. In room its a new modified one out the back of hotel... not impressed... over the road on side street there is a nightclub... so much loud noise an idiots shouting till 5am.did not get any sleep an wanted to go home. ... back of club ... opposite our hotel room there is an alleyway... one the beggars live there along with others carrying beer cans. Was worried about car all night. Its rough out on the night time. The hotel is dated inside an smells musty. Will not go there again.

Stayed for one night, room was small but clean and tidy. Only issue with the room was the long delay for the lift or complex stairs back to reception. Hotel is quite old and a bit run down. Bar is not exciting but cheap, well for doubles anyway. Parking is not easy in the hotel car park so expect to have to find alternative parking. Breakfast was really busy and clearly stretching the space and staff available. A very basic hotel and OK for a one night coach stop which really sums up the hotel.

Me(20) and my partner(23) stayed hee for 1 night as a treat of my mum. When we arrived the reception area was busy with older people, (looked like bingo just finished).

we went to the reception and asked if we could check in, she asked for my name and then gave me our room keys and said 4floor. (that was all)

the room was a decent size but the bed was broken with several planks of wood hanging down. and a random dusty toilet roll under the bed.

very warm, can not open windows!!

on the night we went out for tea and to the bars up the side street of the hotel.

the following morning at 10:20am, the maid let herself into our room. but we was half asleep and then fell back to sleep. 11:20am there was a knock at the door, someone off reception had come up to see when we was leaving as we should have checked out at 10am!

no-body told us this information. if reception staff were a little more friendly and more interested in the guests needs maybe they could of informed us.

besides all of the above, it is in a great location.

Room Tip: a different hotel
