lovely to be by the seaside, loving the walk on the promenade that goes on and on and you still dont see the sea!
Even it was only for a day. the marina is lovely, and we can see the regeneration of new developments in process in the park and new pubs/restaurant. but have they seemed to forget the maintenance of others! its a shame, the park, all the shops and ammuesments, the paths, the lake its looks lovely. but it supposed to be peak season and there was lots of people about, but you never saw anyone cleaning, the bins in the park were over flowing with rubbish. we wanted a family picnic in the park, it took a while to find a spot near the ducks that wasnt invaded with rubbish or a dead pigeon as my son found. But we still love the area and what it has to offer, it is still on our top 5 list of our seaside towns to visit, southport has so much to offer now, and i tell my friends how great it is. my son even wants to come back next summer. but please empty the bins, clean the park up and fix all the broken lights and fixtures on the sea front, southport does need a tiny bit of sparkle adding to it again
