We stayed last Sunday having found this lovely hotel on Trip Adviser last month. We arrived to a warm welcome and a freshly brewed cafetiere of coffee, plus homemade cake, after settling in. Our tradtionally furnished twin bedded room was spotless, as was the modern bathroom. The toiletries were very pleasant and it wasappreciated that complimentary bottled water was provided, alongside a good selection of other drinks and goodies!
The following morning we were served with an excellent breakfast, cooked to order from a good choice of options. As well as being delicious, everything was beautifully presented and our host was again friendly and helpful - nothing seems too much trouble.
The Waterford is well located - just off the promenade, with ample parking and a stroll to Lord Street - the main shopping area.
This gem of Southport is a real find and a nice change from the corporate hotels which abound nowadays - although we often seek out family-run, individual and recommended establishments. It cetainly lives up to the accolades on Trip Adviser - I can't imagine anyone finding fault with The Waterford. Thankyou for a lovely, albeit short, stay.More
