Spent a lovely sunny day at the gardens taking my friend who has just lost her husband for a lovely afternoon tea. The flowers and grounds were very pretty as is the village.
Nice size for strolling around, not too big and not too small. Gardens and flowers are lovely, especially The Fernery - very interesting display of all types of ferns. Good for children - playground, crazy golf and birds to look at and keep them amused. The lake with the ducks, and really good sitting on the grass on a warm Sunday afternoon listrening to the bands. Good refreswhments in the Bistro - espoecially the afternoon tea. Always worth a visit whenever you're in the area.
I have been going here since my children were babies,my daughters are now 25 and 31.i went recently and was dismayed to see the toilets are still in a state and the poor animals look like they are never cleaned. It's so sad to see such a lovely attraction in such disrepair. Please let the powers that be sort it and let's be proud of it once more.
Magnificently kept gardens. Enormous amount of colourful plants and foliage, well manicured gardens and grass. Excellent cafe and children's areas.
It has seen better days but it is obviously trying hard with limited resources. There's an aviary with many different birds to see, a fernery - never knew there were so many sorts of fern - with a wishing well complete with fish! and there's a great little crazy golf course. The lake's nice to walk round - we saw loads of signets - but it's a shame the little train and boats have been cut back - to zero. There's a beautiful area to sit in with a staggering display of flowers.
I visited Southport botanic gardens whilst there I was amazed all the beautiful flowers and the swans on the lake and children enjoying themselves in the children area in the park the cafe is also worth a visit a good family day out
