a well maintained pier of a decent length to get a long walk and some fresh sea air with a cafe / amusement arcade at the end for a rest and a drink.

We enjoyed our walk to the end of the pier. The old classic arcade machines are wonderful to see and brought back many childhood memories for us. They only take old pennies but you can put a £1 coin in the change machine and you'll get 10 old pennies that you can use in the old slot machines. If you enjoy some nostalgia you'll find this place worth a visit.

Something about walking along a pier because it’s there.. this one is long!! But I think it has a shuttle in the summer! Nice cafe and old style amusements at the end-can still barely see the sea tho!

I’ve lived in Southport for many years now and there used to be an old arcade in which you would pay to get old coins to use in old machines, the only reason to walk down there now is to get a good view

We enjoyed a New Year’s Eve walk along this very long pier, which starts at Funland, crosses the marine lake and retail park, and then goes out over the sands. There is a glass pavilion at the very end of the pier, with a lovely cafe and amusements. We enjoyed changing our coins for old pennies to use in the classic slot machines. There are fabulous views over the estuary on a clear day & we were impressed that we could see Blackpool tower from there. There is a little train/ tram I believe, which operates in peak season, but this was not running on 31 Dec. Well worth a visit, for an invigorating and fun walk.
