After going to Frankie and bennys for a fabulously dinner we went for a walk. Disappointed a little with the pier not being fully open, but we can not have it all.

Monday afternoon 4th March, parked in the retail car park free up to 3 hours, walked the full length of the pier to the coffee shop, two special coffees £6, changed a £1 for 5 old pennies had a few spins in the penny arcade, then it chucked it down on the long walk back down the pier! Apart from the lady in the cafe never seen a soul?

Southport pier is the longest iron pier in Briton, it's a good walk from the top of the town to the end of the pier . You can get refreshments in the Cafe at the end and read some history of the pier when ships used to use it. And about the one legend man that used to jump from the pier into the sea. There is talk of turning the end into a night club. It would be a nasty walk in the rain, there is a train runs up and down the pier which has to be paid for, I don't know the cost because I have always enjoyed the walk.

We didn't have the best of weather but enjoyed the walk nevertheless. Would like to visit again when the wind and hail are less prevelant.
