Odd museum , but worth a visit.. Engineers will like this , although one visit is enough. More interesting due to the novelty... Racing aspect was interesting and looks fun!

I really like odd museums and this did not disappoint. A little cold and damp but hey this is about lawnmowers! The staff were fantastic and the curator of the museum was happy to chat and answer questions. For £2 it's a must if your in Southport, I went specifically to see it! I was in Preston anyway so not much of a drive. I made a weekend of it in Southport, will go back when they add extra exhibits, the curator was telling us about the museums plans to expand!

A rather surprising collection, but some of these machines really are quite beautiful in their own way and all are clever pieces of engineering

What an amazing collection of lawnmowers and garden machinery! Located away from the fashionable shopping areas of Southport, this little museum is home to a collection of mowers ranging from those donated by the rich and famous (Prince Charles, for one), to the first robotic and electric models, and all types made since the first one was invented in 1830. The £2 admission fee includes an audio tour which takes you from room to room. Quaint and quirky, totally interesting!

Where else can you find Joe Pasquale's strimmer, Lee Mack's dibber and Nicholas Parsons' secateurs? And all for £2 (or free if you have a Blue Peter Badge).

This is an eccentric and genuinely interesting place. You must go there, just to say you've been. Totally bonkers in a very English way.
