“Two night stay in Southport”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

The hotel is conveniently located. Just a few minutes stroll to Lord Street and the main shopping area. It's a typical Premier Inn...friendly staff, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast facilities attached.
The downside: I forgot to ask for a room that wasn't on the ground floor. The rooms are fine but they are literally a footpath away from the main parking area for the restaurants and cinema. Whilst you can't open the windows fully, it didn't feel safe to leave them open during the night( we couldn't get the A/C to work) and the noise factor would have been high at around 11pm to midnight when people were leaving the area.
There is an excellent choice of eating venues within walking distance across the car park.

Room Tip: Ask for a room above ground level

Me & the wife have just spent 2 nights here, room very clean, reception staff very friendly & helpful. 2 excellent meals at the adjoining Brewers Fayre and reasonably priced. Great beach, lovely town centre, the only downside was that during our 48 hour stay we didn't see the sea because it was so far out!

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor ( room 16) at the back, very quiet and exceptionally clean

We stayed here, as we were going to a friend's birthday party in Birkdale -so was within walking distance. We booked it up early and got it for a reasonable rate, but found other people who left it, potentially would have had to pay a lot more £190 for two nights - which this hotel definitely does not justify.

We stayed over bank holiday weekend, so the hotel was busy - we thought it might be a bit noisy, so were very pleased to find that we were not disturbed by the noise at all. The room got very hot though, so we were grateful for the fan - the only breeze we had, given the windows barely open as there was a safety catch on them. The bathroom was clean - and towels a good size, which we liked. The shower gel in the container on the wall purported to be Imperial Leather - but if that is Imperial Leather, then I am Paris HIlton - because there is no way it was Imperial Leather, but a cheap and bad quality cousin of Imperial Leather.

Bed was comfortable - the room would have benefitted from more plug sockets being available, but we survived! Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room were good.. and it was a very good sized room - so for the money we paid, we felt we got good value.

Spent 2 nights here, room immaculate and reception staff very friendly and efficient. If you want more coffee, milk or tea you just have to ask. Location of inn is good with plenty of eating places opposite. The Brewers Fayre has direct access from the inn. A short walk to the Victorian canopied boulevard, Lord Street with some splendid buildings. Go into Wayfarers Arcade which is a Grade II listed building with a lovely glass-domed roof. Above the Edinburgh Wool Shop there is a lovely tea room worth a visit. Reasonable prices too and the cream teas looked delicious.
If you are going to Southport would recommend staying at this Premier Inn.

Room Tip: Room at back of inn quiet and overlooking golf centre. Top floor there is no noise.

We stayed here in July on a very hot weekend. Check-in was fine, receptionists were lovely. Our room was upstairs at the front of the building, which is noisy due to it being opposite a cinema and various restaurants.

It is in a good location - almost right on the beach, and only a few minutes into town. My problem with many Premier Inns is the lack of air-conditioning! This was a scorching weekend and the hotel smelt strange due to the heat. The rooms had fans, but not sure this is really the answer as they're too loud to keep on at night!

After a day out, we sat outside the attached restaurant and had a few drinks. There were a very large and noisy gang of people who worked on the retail park nearby there, and their language was atrocious! Not the place to go for a quiet drink.

Breakfast was fine, apart from some women thinking it's ok to go to the restaurant wearing curlers in their hair!

If you're looking for value and convenience this is for you. If you want peace and quiet, maybe look elsewhere!

Couple booking a family room coz thats all they had left.......It's such a shame that we now live a world that has become so dependent on social networking and sitting on our bums coz that's all people want to do these days, apologies to the staff behind the check in desk for interrupting sending there next post or tweet. We arrived Very late and, after being tutted at for not specifying the amount of children we had ( even though someone called us from the hotel two days earlier to verify). we were offered a chance to enter the prize raffle for a quid.(watch this space)......

Food....my wife and I ordered rump steak for our evening meal....was like eating a rubber ball.
included all you can eat Breakfast.......being our first time my wife and I entered the dining area thinking we just had to get a table (as no one was about to ask) and then go and get our food...I found a member of staff and asked what do we do.I was asked to sit down whilst they brought me the bill..eh! Ok we got a bill so then went for some breakfast.kitchen staff were bringing out just cooked food ie bacon, sausages etc and just dumping it on top of the cold stuff.Did not see any Yorkshire puddings on the breakfast menu but found some under our table......

Be prepared to carry your luggage until your arm falls off as car parking is not available outside reception.

RAFFLE TICKET......pretty sure we were the last people to book in that day,However the winning ticket was one number above ours......allegedly that is?

Just returned home from a 1 night stay in a family room.

We arrived a few hours before check in opened and we were allowed to use the car park at no cost when we arrived after giving the receptionist our car reg. no.

The location of this Premier Inn is great - across the car park there are plenty of places to eat, such as, Bella Italia and Frankie's and Benny's and it is only a short walk to the pier and local attractions.

Our room was large, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We had tea/coffee making facilities and the reception staff were happy to provide us with extra milk once we ran out. Our room was very hot, however a fan was provided so the heat was not a problem for us.

The only thing I can complain about is the restaurant - as we were stood waiting to be seated for breakfast (waited approx. 5 mins before walking out) I noticed that there were lots of tables that hadn't been cleared & there was half eaten food left beside the food that you help yourself too. I also overheard 2 other customers complaining that there was no cereal left and no orange juice left. At this point we walked out and walked over to Morrisons Cafe (about a 10 minute walk away) and ate a lovely cooked breakfast there at a fraction of the cost of a Premier Inn breakfast.
There obviously was not enough staff in the restaurant.

We would definitely stay here again in the future but would eat breakfast elsewhere.
