We stayed 4 nights in a comfortable and spacious room on the ground floor. We had breakfast each morning at the adjoining restaurant which was plentiful and tasty, but would have been a bit too expensive except children ate free which brought the average cost down for our family. All the staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were pleasant and professional. It does seem a bit ridiculous to have to pay for WiFi when everywhere else you stay it is included.

We had visions of it being isolated but it was not . we were near two pubs both of which did meals . The room we had was clean and comfortable . The breakfast was set out well and the cutlery and crockery was clean . As I do not walk well I was given help by the staff with taking my breakfast to the table . many thanks to them . As items became empty they were quickly refilled.
As ever with a premier Inn breakfast we had to spend a long time doing the crumpets.

We stayed here twice separated by a period of 8 days so were able to check consistency. On both occasions the staff were up to standard Premier-Inn-friendly and courteous and helpful but a little stretched on occasions - they need more cover even at calm times. Beds were PI-standard comfortable, as ever. Breakfast was PI-standard, good quality and preparation. Meals were taken in the Brewer's Fayre alongside and were a bit of the 'Brakes Brothers' side with limited choice and not very inspired so choosing your meal was rather looking for the least unwanted dish. The prices for the overnight stays were very keen. The greatest advantage is the splendid location. By that I do not mean that it is on an industrial site with a great view of the gasometer but rather that such wonderful countryside and such great towns are within easy reach - Durham, Newcastle, Richmond, the Durham Moors, the North York Moors, the Pennines etc etc - and Beamish Museum, and the Bowes Museum and...... Need I say more? Well, yes – there is a gigantic Sainsbury’s, a Tesco and a Morrison’s all within a few minutes’ drive.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the road if traffic disturbs you - it did not worry us at all

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Premier Inn Bishop Auckland.

For the price paid, the accommodation was excellent. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and cheerful.

We had the 'meal deal 'at the adjacent Brewers Fayre with breakfast and evening meal. That entitled you to the breakfast (very good) and evening meal.

I'm not sure that I would go for the evening meal option again. You get a choice of 3 courses, plus a drink, from a cut-down range of options in the main restaurant menu. I'd still go for the convenience of the adjacent Brewers Fayre for an evening meal, but choose a main course from the wider menu, but that's just a personal thing.

We went there as we are buying a property in the area and were shopping around for things. As it turned out, that area of town had most national retailers on the doorstep and plenty of local ones too - and Darlington/A1/Tyneside are only a short drive away for those missing.

The hotel is very well maintained. One of the managers was doing a daily late-night audit of exterior lights to discuss with the electrician coming the next day. You can see that they look after the property.

All in all - an excellent choice.

Wanting to spend a few days in County Durham - where better than a Premier Inn? Location Bishop Auckland is ideal! We were not disappointed by anything - other than wishing 2 chairs were provided in all twin rooms for perching on the bed for one is not ideal (can be said of most Premier Inns, I suppose?) - otherwise faultless staff, facility, and full cooked breakfast!

Room Tip: Ask for 2 chairs in twin or family rooms!

Position of hotel was ideal for our purposes, near the centre of B.A. Parking is good.
Room is of Premier Inn standard, good mattress, reasonably spacious, has air con, which, was not noisy, but also not that cool.
Visit was somewhat marred by staff not doing their jobs, soaps, towels, cleaning and an admin `goof `.
But, they were friendly and cheerful, and one in particular very apologetic, and embarrased by mistakes made by staff.

Room Tip: No tips as such, just check that you get what you have paid for.
