“Disappointing”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

Having read reviews decided to take elderly mother out for lunch. She ordered corned beef pie which she could not eat as she could not get her knife through the pastry (I tried too and it was like concrete) and being 80 she didn't want the fuss of me taking it back so she just scraped out the middle. Very anaemic looking lasagne was served to daughter and most of this was also left. Lovely chips though! I decided to mention issues to waitresses when they came to clear table but no-one came near us in 40 minutes so we just left. We won't be going back.

“Nice enough”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

We have been driving past this place for years and following all the great reviews decided to stop for a coffee and something to eat today. The cafe and toilets are very clean and the food prepared fresh when ordered. The service was good and welcoming. The menu was indeed varied and actually had a number of vegi options. The coffee however was disappointing, I had a latte that was like a cup of hot milk. The vegi sausage breakfast roll was tasty. It certainly has a mixed clientele, but lacked atmosphere. Not somewhere we will be stopping again as I like good coffee.

“A great place for a bite to eat”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

My wife and I have been there for Sunday lunch a few times, food is great. the bonny waitresses are friendly quick and efficient in their work. At busy times you can expect to wait a wee while, but the food is always served piping hot and reasonably priced. Their jam rolly polly is a treat and as far as I know everything is baked fresh every day. Its a popular place with bikers, tourists, well everyone, so if you're passing through Toft Hill on the A68 and feel a little peckish. Pop in for a snack with a cuppa or a lovely meal, you won't be disappointed. Just wish we lived a lot closer we'd be there just about every day.
