“Couldn't fault it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

We only stayed for one night, but I can't fault a thing.
We went to watch a rugby match and we got their early and asked if we could leave our bags because check in was after the match had started.
They were very friendly let us take our bags to our room and ordered us a local taxi which was a private hire who was also very nice and a great service.
We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was amazing, we also had breakfast the next morning and because of the previous night we had high hopes for the breakfast and they didnt let us down.
Our room was directly opposite the airport so we could see all the planes coming in and out so we were dreading the night sleep, but their great window we couldnt hear a thing, so we had a great night sleep in the comfy bed, the room had air con so we didnt need the windows open.
I really cant fault the hotel it was lovely, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again if we were in the area :)

Last Thursday I stayed at the Holiday Inn Ariel, Hayes. The checki-in was very fast and friendly. I was shocked when I entered the room (or should I say: shoe box!!). I never have experienced such a small room (probably 12-14m2). Although the room/bathroom were very clean and the bed ok, I could not get used to the tiny seize of the room. For GBP 90,-- (incl. very simple breakfast) I expected not more luxury but a little more space. As the building is circular and this room was on the inside, next time I will ask for a room on the outside of the circular building. These rooms are bigger.

Room Tip: Take a room on the outside of the circular building!!

Thank you for your review, we value your feedback to help us enhance the service we are offering. Whilst our inside rooms are cosy due to the shape of the hotel, we do believe they represent good value for money for single travellers in the Heathrow market. As you have correctly suggested, we have larger rooms on the outside of the hotel and would recommend you book one of those if you need slightly more space.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Excellent hotel which has recently been refurbished (my room this stay was a lot nicer than the one the previous december). Restaurant was good for dinner but has an excellent breakfast buffet! You can save money on this by purchasing a ticket from the reception beforehand.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and the WiFi is free if you are a member of the frequent stay program. However the WiFi is also incredibly slow! Even simple web pages take 20+ seconds to load and ping times to Google often exceeded 5,000ms) which makes web browsing and email hard and you can forget even audio-only Skype calls.

Save money and time by skipping the expensive, half-hourly Hoppa buses from Heathrow. The 105 and 111 buses from the Heathrow Central Bus Station are both free and each route runs every 10 minutes so you hardly have to wait. Just get off at Harlington Corner and you are right next to the hotel. There is a screen on the bus to tell you the next stop so getting the right one is easy and the following morning you can take the same bus from the opposite stop (about 50m down the road on the other side) back to Heathrow again for free!

Room Tip: Rooms inside the ring are quieter but smaller, those on the outside may get a little traffic/plane n...

Thanks for your review, I was delighted to see you were allocated one of our newly refurbished rooms- which although cosy are looking exceptional.
My apologies you experienced slow wi-fi, unfortunately during peak times it can slow down slightly, this is something we are working on.

I appreciate your detailed handy tip for other hotel users with reference to the free bus- see you again soon!

Kind Regards

This hotel is average at best, and is probably below average. The rooms are typical for small, cheap European rooms. It was clean, but the hot water in the sink in the bathroom didn't even work. The bed was OK, the AC worked fine. The staff was fine. The restaurant was mediocre and overpriced. They charge for Internet access, 5 pounds for an hour, 10 pounds for four hours, and the connect was very slow - a big ripoff.

There is no free hotel shuttle from the airport, you have to take the Hotel Hoppa, which is 9 pounds for the round trip and is slow; another ripoff and allow yourself about a hour for waiting for the bus and getting there. None of this is well explained on the hotel website.

I'd suggest trying to stay elsewhere if you have to stay at the airport.

Room Tip: Still elsewhere

Stayed here on the way to Dubai.

The staff are all great and very helpful.

Rooms are comfortable but a bit dated and run down.

the internet connectivity is woefully bad. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IHG, CAN WE HAVE A GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION ACROSS THE GROUP.

ps: paying the internet usage is long out of date so don't try that option!

The whole hotel needs a refurbishment urgently. The rooms facing the courtyard are more silent but very small and very used.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Would stay again if no other choice possible.

We stayed overnight here during our visit for Froch v Groves boxing match (31st May - 1st June), great transport link straight from airport & to anywhere really. We arrived 4 hrs earlier than the due check-in and while hubby popped to bar for our refreshments, I thought I would ask reception on the off chance of room being ready....and it certainly was, fast friendly check-in service. Can't fault our room in any way, had everything needed & clean & fresh....thank you to Tatiana :)
Relaxed for a bit and although right near airport, can't complain of noisy planes. If you want a little bite to eat outside hotel, there is a couple of take-aways, chinese (but obv not open till later at night) & chippy just 5-10 mins walk, which sold us an amazing fish supper, next to The Wheatsheaf pub, which may I add Jeff, his staff & also his regulars were very welcoming & pleasant when we popped in for a few while out.
We had a late night out and arrived back at hotel 3.30am Sunday, again even with the time of night, was met by friendly staff to open the main door. Unfortunately we did miss our breakfast which we paid for but no fault but our own, on check-out both reception staff offered us a fresh cold breakfast box, yoghurt, muffin, breakfast biscuits, fruit, bottle of fresh orange & a nice fresh mint sweetie, this made me smile great thought.....just enough & perfect for a hangover like ours.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again when back down. Can't fault it or its location in anyway.

Room Tip: The hotel is circular and we were facing inside rather than out to main road/airport.
