“Very comfortable room”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

Close to airport - but need to take bus for terminals.
Good access to London - if you have a car.

My room was very, very comfortable - spacious, warm, quiet, had a seating area (two armchairs and table), large desk, good lighting & large screen TV. Comfy bed.
Little extras - aromatherapy pack / chocolates.
Couldn't fault it.

Staff polite and helpful.

The reason we chose the Crowne Plaza was for its location and transport links, and we don’t mean the Airport. A night attending ‘Stargazing Live’ in Egham followed by a visit to Hammersmith put the Crowne Plaza spot in the middle. Take into account the cost from Lastminute.com and you almost have the perfect venue but for the additional costs that you tend to forget. Car Parking was £12 for 24 hours so we made the most of it and left the car at the Hotel while we travelled to Hammersmith and the second additional cost was for the Bus Hoppa (no Courtesy Bus), £4:50 per person each way back and forth to the Airport to catch the Piccadilly Line Tube into town.

Parking and Transport aside, when you enter the Hotel, you are greeted with a complimentary drink while you queue at reception (could have been a bad time), but the check in was efficient and friendly.

The Room was fantastic! Very large area with a comfortable Bed, Large Desk, Large TV, Mini Bar, Air Conditioning and a Safe. The Bathroom was OK bur we just do not like Showers in the Bath!
There are lots of facilities at the Crowne Plaza, including the Large Leisure Centre (which we did not have a chance to use) and even a small gift shop.

We also didn’t get to try the Restaurant, but Breakfast in the Morning (another extra £14 per person) was at best OK. The problems were not about choice (fruits, meats, cheeses, breads and the normal cooked stuff were all available) but about the care as the Natural Yogurt was contaminated (somebody had double dipped), The Bacon had dried up, the Tomatoes withered and the Bread had been handled too much!

This could have been a brilliant stay but for the small details and extortionate Wifi costs.

Dear AndyG

Thank you for your review following your recent stay at the Crowne Plaza London Heathrow.

I am pleased that you enjoyed our hotel facilities and offerings, however I am sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Although you can get a great rate through last minute, the rate wont include some of the benefits you are looking for such as parking and I would advise to check our rates directly on our website to see what the offers are. Wifi will be complimentary to all of our member later in 2014 and it is complimentary to our Gold and Platinum members already. Your feedback is very important to us and I have forward to the relevant department with regards to the breakfast.

I look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.

Kind regards

I needed a Hotel that offered ease of access to both Central London and Heathrow which offered high standards and value for money. The Crowne Plaza fulfilled all my requirements.

There is a good service to and from the Hotel to the terminals using the Hoppa buses. Central London, with no interruptions, allow 35 - 40 minutes.

As you would expect, the Hotel is of a high standard, the staff friendly and professional, the standard of rooms and amenities very high, no complaints at all.

I couldn't find time to use the leisure complex although I did partake of a beer and a sandwich in their Irish themed bar, beers overpriced as you would expect but my ham and cheese sandwich was good value.

I looked at the prices for the other restaurants on site, again overpriced in my opinion.

The Crowne Plaza always delivers on quality against value for money on the room rates and is my first choice when looking for an airport hotel.

When looking for hotel deals at Heathrow with parking we decided to take a chance and book a secret hotel and were really happy that once booked it was Crowne Plaza. We have stayed here on a few occasions and were not disappointed.
On check in we were met by a very helpful and friendly receptionist, who could not have been more helpful. I had forgotten to print off our Hoppa vouchers and she printed them for us.
The room was clean and spacious with comfy bed and pillows, lovely touch with the litte chocolates and the aromatherapy wrist and pillow spray. Although the hotel is very close to the airport we were not disturbed by aircraft or road noise.
We didn't use any of the facilities this time but will allow more time on our next trip.
The parking is on site and you keep your keys - just remember on the way out to pick up your ticket from front desk to allow your exit from car park.
The Hoppa (H1)takes between 10 to 20 minutes and is easy to find outside the arrivals hall.

We stayed here before leaving for a holiday and took advantage of the parking and transfer offer. We were happy with the hotel during our stay, the room was fine, we had a good nights sleep ahead of our holiday, and check in / out was painless. We did not use the restaurant as we arrived late and left early. Staff were very friendly and chatty. The transfer service was good and so we would definitely use this service from Crowne Plaza again.

However we particularly appreciated the service we received on our return to the hotel to pick up the car, which wouldn't start. After a long days travelling our hearts sank at this, but the help and concern the two ladies on reception expressed really softened the blow; we were offered use of the phone and teas and coffees while we waited for breakdown cover. We would just like to say thank you for this.

If you are flying from London Heathrow than this hotel is the best in comfort and style. The spacious 2 double bed rooms are a good size and perfect for families or friends. If so, try and get upgraded to the deluxe rooms on the ground floor, The leisure facilities are good, perfect for a late night swim.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are bigger, suite style rooms.

We decided to take advantage of the hotel, as we originally had a very early flight the next morning (which was later moved to later that day) so booked a room and parking, which is really worth doing, because the parking at Heathrow is expensive. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the facilities are also good. I used the gym and swimming pool, which has a steam room and sauna also. The hotel bar is nice, but a bit pricey for what you get, but this was more than made up for, by the excellent Indian restaurant in the building. It really was one of the best Indian meals that I have ever eaten! Staff very helpful, although one of two people seemed a little confused and in experienced. Over all a very pleasant stay and I would definately go back, if I fly from Heathrow again.
