To get to Terminal 5, Heathrow for our 10am flight to New York would have meant leaving our home at 4am, risking delays on the M25 and then spending a small fortune on car parking. The solution was to have a relaxing one night stay at Harmondsworth Hall and to leave our car in their car park. The Hall itself is very olde worlde and our room was huge with a comfortable (and large) bed, en suite with a more than adequate shower room. The breakfast was very good with a full english option included in the £85 cost.
The owner was very friendly and efficiently organised our taxi which arrived on time. It was slightly more expensive than we had been told at £9.50 each way but that is nit picking.
Only slight disappointment was the lack of a decent place to eat in Harmondsworth itself. We went to one of the local pubs which had a rather limited menu and wasn't really the sort of start we wanted fo our trip. But, hey ho, it was very cheap and we didn't have to drive anywhere.
Harmondsworth Hall is ideal for people who don't want to stay in the modern impersonal hotels dotted around the airport an we will certainly stay there again when we fly out of Heathrow.More
