I chose this guest-house as a stop over before collecting friends from Heathrow Airport the next morning. In summary, this place has plenty of character, in a good quiet location, nice friendly welcome, nice room which had everything I needed including free wi-fi, secure car parking, good breakfast, friendly staff and best of all only 10 mins drive to the airport. I'm sure some people who want a pristine modern hotel could pick fault, but I think they are perhaps missing the point. Long live the authentic character guest houses!

We booked our 1 night stay for April 2013 & 1 night stay for September 2013 before January 2013. It took a several calls and emails before finally getting confirmation. On arrival in April we didn't get a warm, friendly reception, but the room outside of the house was great. Because we had our 2 dogs, it was very convenient to have this room. The room & bathroom were small, but clean, and the bed very comfortable. We couldn't get the internet as offered. We asked to have breakfast in the room and volunteered to take it in ourselves because we didn't want to leave the dogs in the room alone. The lady helping with breakfast didn't seem very happy with this. The only person who was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome was the older gentleman who was working outside. On leaving we reconfirmed this room in September and we were told we would definitely get it. But on arrival in September we were told we couldn't get the same room because it was taken by someone who had booked it before us. As a substitute we got the room downstairs in the back of the house which was large and seemed clean. The downside was the noise from the front door opening & closing with people coming & going. Once again we couldn't get the internet as offered. When we flushed the toilet, water would back up in the sink. Because we were leaving at 7AM we wanted to have tea & coffee in the room but discovered that the cups and saucers had been previously used and were dirty. It would have been nice to have been able to have a cup of tea/coffee prior to leaving especially since we left too early for breakfast (no discount offered). We weren't sure if it was us, but after reading reviews on tripadvisor, realized that others also had issues with rooms and feeling welcome. Now we know to read reviews on everything prior to travel, not after. Not sure if we would stay here again or not. We had 4 priorities . . . do they take dogs, are they near the airport, is there parking and is the place historic/old. This place seemed to tick all the boxes, but we certainly didn't feel welcome, more like inconvenient intruders.

Room Tip: Check reviews on Tripadvisor prior to booking!!!!

I picked this guesthouse because it was near Heathrow airport from where I would be leaving to fly home. After touring for two weeks, I was looking forward to some "down time" before the long flight home. The village of Harmondsworth was a delightful small village and Harmondsworth Hall was the typical English manor house that one pictures. I enjoyed: the full English breakfast in the dining room while gazing out into the garden; roaming around the village and taking a walk in the natural park area near the British Airways office; eating lunch in a pub; and meeting many new people. I had a lovely single room that was perfect for relaxing, catching up my trip journal and preparing for the flight home. I was looking for a great place to use when I fly into and out of Heathrow and Harmondsworth Hall really fit the bill. I will be back!

Beautiful historical lodging which, thanks to it's owner and staff maintains the time-honoured traditional values that are very rarely seen in even the most celebrated hotels. Quaint village, only a stones throw from Heathrow, but somehow completely soundproofed from the constant roar of air travel. We strolled around the 12th Century St Mary's Church and Tithe barn, which is the largest timber framed building in Britain!
The room itself was elegant and traditional, incorportaing every necessary convenience and some luxuries, including dressing gowns. Breakfast was also a very pleasant treat, with a dresser full of continental treats, augmented by a hearty full English.
Archie the dog was also a highlight!
Thank-you Harmondsworth, we'll be back.

I have booked this hotel on two occasions and had the booking confirmed and on both occasions they have double booked the rooms and I have been left with no rooms !! Even if you have a booking confirmation at this hotel don't believe it ! you only have a room when you get to the hotel and they give you a key, Until then just keep your fingers crossed and have another hotel booked just in case !!!!

Room Tip: Chose a room in a different hotel

Stopped there on the first night of our honeymoon on the way to America, first off the lady didnt know which room to put us in, we finally got one told there might be crumbs init somewhere as they'd not previously hoovered up! The room itself is ok old fashioned but I presume that's good for some, bed was nice and clean. Got ready for bed and could hear scratching checked behind the wardrobe mouse droppings and mouse hole!! Woke the lady up, had to prove there was a mouse! My wife couldn't be in that room so we were offered a cold one upstairs which was actually a lot better in my opinion. As we went we were never offered any compensation for our bad stay having to move all our stuff upstairs in fact she about dodged us in the morning. So needless to say we won't be staying there again!
