“Fantastic Wedding Venue , A Day to Remember”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 December 2013

We hosted our wedding reception and week-end here and have to say it was as good as having it in our own home as there was no stress at all. The food was amazing and the atmosphere cozy and perfect for out intimate Christmas Wedding. Richard and Eddie and staff were incredible and nothing was too much trouble. With a roaring log fire and sparkly Christmas lights it really was a lovely place to have our reception and a memory we will hold with us in years to come.

This place has been rescued by two local's who already have between them a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry in the area, it will only get better and better Room 5, The Princess and the Peas Suite was very comfy and had a lovely bed w and the rooms were amazingly clean, this place can only get better.

We arrived quite late on a Saturday (just before 3 pm) for a light lunch but the staff were still so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and we were seated in lovely compfy chairs right in front of the gorgeous roaring fire in the cosy lounge. It was so delightful (& the food was delcious as well) we could have easily stayed there all afternoon.

Great value for money as well. Will definitely re-visit whenever we are passing that way again. Their attitude deserves to bring them success.

Room Tip: We did not stay overnight

I spent a weekend at this hotel with friends in October 2013. As with previous reviewers we found the hotel staff to be friendly and welcoming. We wouldn't have booked at the rates quoted on the hotel website but we rang for the 'best available rate' and were offered a better price which, we all agreed, was good value for money. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was good. We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights which we wouldn't have done if we'd realised how many other restaurants there are within easy walking distance. The hotel has a nice cosy lounge which was ideal for sitting and chatting with friends. It made a nice change to be able to have a conversation without having to fight to hear over background muzak. We were very impressed with the beautiful West Sussex countryside and generally there were lots of great places to walk, nice pubs and cafés and friendly locals!

My whole family stayed at the Angel for two nights to attend my daughters wedding at the walled garden. We had a lovely meal at the Angel on the Friday evening in their private dining room. Nothing was too much trouble. We also had two good breakfasts there. The friendliness of the staff really made for a wonderful stay and Edward was calm and helpful in every way possible. Sarah was extremely efficient with all the pre weekend planning. I would highly recommend anyone needing wedding accommodation to stay at the Angel hotel as it was a wonderful start to all our family celebrations.

The Angel Hotel was a very good indeed! The management and the whole staff were extremely nice, helpful and welcoming. Our room was very cosy, comfortable and although overlooking the main street, it was not noisy. A lift would certainly be a good idea to avoid us having to carry some large bags up the stairs. Both the food and the service at Bentley restaurant were excelent. I would undoubtedly go back.

Lack of lift & rather awkward steep stair slight drawback, that problem was overcome however by very kind help from "The Boss". I had a very pleasant room, the lighting however could be better.
Everything in the room and bathroom spotlessly clean.
Bar and restaurant service first class and so friendly, food out of this world, cooked and served with such good care.
As we stayed for a special event, we found the increase in prices a bit steep!
Cold weather at the time of our visit could have been more comfortable with some heat in the public rooms - but this is England!

Room Tip: First floor good

I recently stayed here just for one night and was impressed with the hotel. As the restaurant was closed that night I can't pass judgement on the food apart from breakfast which was very nice.
Very friendly staff and the rooms were of a good standard. I will be back when next in the area

Room Tip: Rooms at the side and back will be quiter
