AN amazing B&B that is better than any 5 star hotel I have stayed in. Honestly. I couldn't believe the high standard of the decor and the warm and welcoming staff ensured that our stay was better than expected. It blends contemporary elegance with rustic charm, therefore providing beautiful surrounding with a homely feel. My partner and I are already planning our Easter beak there. Highly recommended if you are after a relaxing retreat in the countryside.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Tennysons superior room which is the middle sized of the range as the largest rooms...

We stayed at the barn for 2 nights this week, the welcome was first class, the room was fabulous, it was cosy, inviting and the bed was extremely comfortable, it had everything you could need for a restful few nights away, the food was first class, the evening meal would definitely take some beating from top chefs, and the breakfast had an excellent variety, I would highly recommend this little haven to family and friends and we will definitely be going back.
Well done to all involved.

We've just returned from a weekend at the Barn and feel relaxed, refreshed and very well looked after!

From the moment you walk in, the team look after you, not in an intrusive way, but in a calm relaxed way. From homemade cake and tea on arrival to giving us tips on walks and things to do, I can't fault them.

The room was great, huge comfy bed, great big bathroom and just v comfortable. We had a wonderful 4 course meal and loved being able to bring our own bottles which were chilled and opened for us. Breakfast was perfect too.

We had a few hiccups trying to make our weekend at there barn happen (on our part) but throughout they were so helpful and accommodating and our stay was well worth the wait.

The barn is a haven of calm and I can't recommend it enough. We'll be back!

I have just returned from The Barn where I was there for 2 days and 1 night for a business retreat. The staff could not do enough for us - the meals were excellent, the cakes wonderful and at breakfast we were treated to home made jam. Food aside, the rooms were exceptional and I can't recommend this place enough. Perfect for a special night away, private party or business day with a difference.

Room Tip: As far as I could see, all rooms where exceptional. Which ever one you get, you will not be dissapoi...

We have just returned from a memorable weekend celebrating my wife's birthday with family and friends. It was great to have the whole place to ourselves and we knew what to expect having stayed here before. We weren't disappointed! The greeting was superb and our every wish had been catered for, down to the Christmas tree and log fire. We had two lovely evening meals and Ruth was superb front of house. There when we needed her but in the background when we didn't. A memorable weekend to celebrate a special birthday that none of us will forget. We will be back.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Barn for a single night, taking advantage of their Thursday offer of a night's stay plus dinner for two for £170.

Everything about our stay was simply superb. Upon arrival in the magnificent barn we were brought tea and cake and given time to settle by the staff before being shown to our room. The room itself was more like a suite and is beautifully decorated, including the spacious and modern bathroom.

Our four course meal was simply sublime, from the delicious amuse bouche to the sumptuous dessert and coffee. Many of the ingredients used are sourced locally or are from the farm itself, which includes the beef that was used in our main course.

Breakfast was also excellent and plentiful, with a wide choice of fresh, delicious food and drinks.

In addition to all the above, The Barn is in a stunning location just below Black Down, with some lovely walks and stunning countryside within easy reach.

All in all, my girlfriend and I had a memorable and romantic stay and will definitely be going back.

What a wonderful place this B&B is. It is set in a picturesque location, the Barn is beautiful and the staff are extremely attentive and helpful. We had dinner one evening and the food is fantastic, well worth the £40 per head price for 4 courses and the bring your own booze works out perfectly. Breakfast is plentiful and very tasty. And there are lovely country walks from right outside.
Now i really wanted to give this place 5 stars but sadly cannot. This is due to the layout of the bedroom we stayed in, apparently one of the executive rooms (the most expensive). It was beautifully decorated, we loved the original artwork and exposed wooden beams, but the first downside was the king size double, which was actually two smaller beds pushed together, and although sheets and mattress covers were used there wad still a noticable dip between the mattresses. But dips aside, the main bit that let the room down was the internal door through to the next bedroom with sizeable cracks between the door and the frame which meant we shared our stay with the people next door. Light from the next room was visible, but worst of all we could hear their TV and conversation in the evening, hear snoring during the night (!) and were woken by a hairdryer the next morning. For such a lovely rural retreat this is a shame, as its the kind of place you want to go to in order to get away from the world and the hustle and bustle of the city where people live on top of each other. It felt like we were sharing our room!

Ooops 'Almost perfect' as far as we're concerned is not perfect enough.
I'm really sorry that you found a couple of things that didn't quite work and so we are addressing the issues raised immediately.
The double doors connecting the two adjoining rooms have in fact shrunk and after discussion with our builder we have decided that our guests would be better served by not having interconnecting rooms at all if the downside is that sound carries through. And so work will be carried out in the next few weeks to remove the doors and replace them with a solid wall.
Our beds whilst super comfortable are hotel zip and link beds. They are joined at the base and the mattresses are zipped together. As a small establishment we are able to offer our guests the choice of kingside or twin beds. I'm sorry that you could feel the join and so we will be investing in mattress toppers so that this is not an issue in future.
Thank you for your lovely comments and in particular thank you for raising the issues that weren't quite perfect. We are absolutely committed to exceeding our guests expectations and that means being 100% perfect. If something is not quite right we will do everything in our power to fix it.
I hope we can welcome you again at The Barn at Roundhurst.
Kind regards
Moya
