I was in the area for a wedding and this place was exactly what I needed. Welcoming, cosy and attractive. The owner was very accommodating and the breakfast was lovely. I must find another reason to visit again!

We stayed for 3 nights during mid september. Two Rose Cottage has two rooms with everything you need, including gowns and tea/coffee making. The rooms are delightfully maintained/decorated to the last detail, with modern sanitation, modern windows, central heating. We used the larger room, quiet, facing the garden with a view of the little pond in Midhurst. Our room had a tub which we must confess was a luxury enjoyed, since our business in the area was out-of-doors all day. Bed firm 1,5 size. The other room faces the street, smaller, with a shower. Sarah is a most wonderful host, spoiling you for breakfast with a large selection of home-cooked meals. Dont forget to have stroll through old town Midhurst with anno 1606 houses and the surrounding "park" with an old Tudor castle ruin and the footprint of another.

Room Tip: The small room (with WC, shower and sink) gives you all the benefits of exellent BnB, but the large...

It really is a pity that it was so cold for the Goodwood Revival meeting this year, but glad you were able to enjoy the bath when you got in, and the tea-lights. It was lovely to have your
friendly presence in the house. Thank you for coming all the way from Denmark, and look forward to seeing you another year, hopefully.

Beautiful cottage in a delightful Sussex market town, Two Rose Cottages is a wonderful little place to stay to explore the Sussex Weald and South Downs, and it is everyhting you'd expect from an English B&B and then more. Sarah is a fantastic host with a brilliant culinary touch to the breakfast - wonderfully fresh and clearly all locally sourced ingredients. Most excellent! We stayed in the Cobden Room with newly renovated bathroom and it was a restful delight. Guests also have access to the sitting room with a well-stocked shelf of local guides and information as well as a great 'Bring a Book, Take a Book" library as well. A fabulous guest house, we will be back - thankyou Sarah!

Room Tip: Both rooms are up some steep stairs - may be pack a smaller bag to help with moving luggage. Cobden...

Thank you so much for your kind words Nick. It was lovely to have you both here. You are quite right that the stairs are steep. I made sure that there is a handrail on both sides, but you have flagged that I should make this clearer on the website and when accepting bookings - smaller cases are easier - which I will do. Thanks for that!

We stayed for several nights in May and it was just wonderful in every respect. I stayed in the Cobden Room and felt completely spoiled by the lovely linens, deep bath, and peaceful view of the garden and pond. Everything was new and sparkling clean and there are so many extra little touches to make you feel welcome and so comfortable - e.g. locally made lavender bath salts, toiletries, padded hangers, robe, excellent tea selection in the room, etc. It was also very quiet and restful. Sarah is the perfect host - helpful without being intrusive, fantastic cook and full of great ideas and tips about the local area. The living room is also a real treat with a cosy fireplace, books and comfy seating. As someone who stays in hotels often, I really appreciated the homey atmosphere and little comforts. The location couldn't be better - Two Roses is minutes from a great old bookstore (don't miss it!), clothing shops, groceries, tea shops, etc. and also from nature and historical ruins. A wonderful area for taking long walks. We only had a week in England but I felt that I had been there much longer because there are so many wonderful things to see and do very close by.
Thanks for a wonderful stay, Sarah! All the best!

Dear Paula. It was just great to have you to stay for several days, and to introduce you to some of the lovely resources and people around here. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and really appreciated all the good feedback you gave. In fact, thanks to you there is now a feedback sheet in each room! Hope I'll make it to your part of the world again one day!

We found Two Rose Cottages by chance and on very short notice during a major local event. Normally, these factors can lead to disappointment; however, we encountered one of the most pleasant stays ever.I should add that we normally stay at highly-rated hotels and not B&Bs.

Sarah is a delightful host; welcoming, helpful, informative from the start. The rooms are a decent size but charming, spotless and full of interesting things to read. You can tell a lot of thought and consideration went into setting things up.
The rooms and the bathrooms have everything you need including a small TV.
Sarah's cooking prowess is evident from the magnificent breakfast. All the choices normally evident at large hotel buffets are available plus some inventive selections. We loved the strawberry and rhubarb!
The location is charming with a walk to the village and two castles within easy reach.

Two things to mention: the stairs are steep for someone who has difficulty in that area and the cottages are directly on a road so parking close-by may not be possible at all times.

That said, nothing in life is perfect but Two Rose Cottages comes very close to achieving perfection!

Sarah mentioned her B&B is fairly new so make sure you book early as I have a feeling it will be much sought after in the near future.
Thank you Sarah!

Dear Sophie, It was lovely to have you and Hannah here, with Sam and Will. I was glad that we are close to the town centre and other b and b's so you could easily join the rest of the wedding party. What a great write-up Nick and Mara's wedding got in the local paper - did you see it?

My partner and I were lucky enough to find a room in this lovely cottage in Midhurst as there had been a cancellation. Two Rose Cottages is located a minute's walk from town centre, next to a pretty pond and there are many walks available including the Cowdray ruins which is 10 minutes away.
We arrived one sunny Saturday afternoon and were greeted warmly by Sarah, our host. Wells room with en-suite shower was cosy and every little detail for our comfort had been thought of including a pillow menu and bathrobes :)
Breakfast was served in the reading room downstairs the next morning, it was beautifully presented and delicious which came as no surprise when Sarah told us she is a cook.
I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone who is looking to get away from the city as the surroundings are so beautiful and would definitely return to try The Cobden Room next. The only down side is there are only two rooms in this elegant cottage.

Thank you so much for your review Sunkus. It was a pleasure to welcome you both here at such short notice, and I am so glad that you enjoyed it. You certainly had good weather. I love the term "pillow menu", and will start to use it in my publicity - thank you for that! Best wishes, and hope to see you back again.
