A well presented restaurant serving a delicious food menu but let down by the service staff.
We arrived at the restaurant quite early at around 6pm. The manager greeted us but was busy with another customer so she asked someone else to seat us. We waited but no-one was in a rush to do this and we awkwardly stood there for a couple of minutes waiting while the staff ignored us. Eventually someone showed us inside and we could sit anywhere we liked as the restaurant was almost empty (we were early).
We ordered our food and while we were waiting for it, we were given a paper bag with a slice of white bread cut into quarters inside (which was weird) and a side plate of oil and vinegar to share to dip it in. I'm not sure why four quarters of a slice of bread needed presenting in a paper bag but there we go.
The food when it came out was really delicious, however one of the main meals was incorrect (not what we ordered) but delicious nonetheless so we kept it.
The service staff on the whole appeared to all be very young which isn't necessarily a problem, however they didn't appear to be well trained in customer service or how to present themselves. They were laughing and joking amongst each other, having conversations which should have been kept private and paying no attention to how this may be seen.
At the end of the meal we waited for somebody to notice that we'd finished eating (which took a few minutes) and asked for our bill tic which the waitress replied "of course". 10 minutes later we still hadn't received that bill and the manager came over and asked if we were ok. She then got the bill for us. After inspection of the bill, we noticed that they'd charged us incorrectly. Not only had they delivered the wrong main meal, what they charged us for (one item)did not match what we'd ordered or what they'd given us. Seeing as this bill was slightly less than what we should have paid, we ignored it because the total lack of care for attention to detail was now bothering us.
In conclusion the restaurant is a really lovely place with great food (which is the main thing I guess) but attention to detail on the smaller things and customer experience would make it great!

This fish restaurant was recommended to us by a few people so we decided to get a bite for lunch.

We ordered chilli and garlic prawns and lobster. Although the presentation was lovely the dishes were over cooked. The lobster was a touch rubbery and the prawns were so over cooked they were mushy. The prawns were also under seasoned.

The chips were really good as was the rocket salad. Wait staff was good and setting pleasant.

Perhaps it was an off day? I’d give this another chance.

Overall very nice establishment. Was a nice day so we sat outside in the garden which was very pleasant and pretty. We ordered eggs Benedict and a bacon and eggs which is where my only gripe comes in - it took ages (about 30minutes) considering there were only 4 other tables of guests in the restaurant, wasn’t the end of the world as it was a lovely day.

Will visit again for a main meal.

We really want this restaurant to be good as we live nearby. It has declined considerably over the last few years and after our last experience - terrible service and mediocre food we haven't returned. Which is a shame because it has so much potential to be better.
