Spent my husband's birthday at this hotel on a bed, breakfast and 5 course tasting menu deal. The reception staff were very friendly, professional and helpful, as were those in the restaurant. We had a lovely room and there were some really nice touches like various books and magazines to choose from, ornaments and an open fireplace so it seemed really homely. The bathroom was super with good ameniities and lovely fluffly robes, and although very close to the airport, the noise wasn't too bad at all and we were able to get a reasonable night's sleep. Unfortunately we didn't have good weather so were unable to enjoy the lovely grounds, but the lounges are very welcoming and comfortable. As many other reviewers have previously commented, we found the drinks overpriced. The wine flight with the tasting menu dinner cost £25 for 4x70cl glasses, which equates to £62.50 a bottle, and it really was not good enough to warrant such a price tag. To add insult to injury, when we checked out we noticed they had automatically added 12.5% on top of the cost of the wine, which was a service charge. When we queried it we were told it was an optional charge, although but there had been no previous mention of it and was added automatically. In all in, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to friends.

What a hidden gem! My partner and I came to the Langshott as part of our anniversary celebrations as it was on an easy train route through to London. We had a secret escapes deal which included a 5 course taster menu and breakfast.

The grounds are lovely and would be a wonderful place to enjoy afternoon tea in the summer. We were a little disappointed not to be placed in the main building but the outbuildings are only a short walk. We had a luxury room.

We enjoyed drinks in the comfy lounges and had the pleasure of being served by Geza. He works incredibly hard and provides first class customer service. Nothing was too much trouble to the staff here. The taster menu was beautiful. Breakfast was equally good and had a nice range of hot and cold food on offer!

Bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious! There are a couple of issues, which when resolved will make the room perfect. There was a bulb gone in the ceiling, the radiator cover was broken, the tape on the corner of the step had come off, there were cobwebs and daddy long legs in the corner, the cafetierre was broken, the cups were stained and the shower had some very mouldy areas around the seals. Also the WIFI wasn't working with our mobiles, we did inform the receptionist, who restarted the router but it didn't work, and there was nothing more she could do at that time of night.

Turning down the bed was a nice touch!

We will be back!

Only a short drive from Gatwick airport you will find this Tudor house, set in a lovely quiet area away from all the noise of the airport hotels this is well worth a visit. Rooms are cheaper than all the usual hotels but this place has bags of charm. We booked into the restaurant for our wedding anniv'...and what a great time we had, the menu is extensive and we couldn't decide so went for a 7 course taster meal... Small portions of many things, all cooked to perfection and each with a different wine to complement the food.
We went on a Monday evening and it was almost empty, they do get full at weekends so ensure you book well in advance.
Service was FANTASTIC, everyone we met was professional and a credit to the company.
There are a load of hotels in this area supporting the airport and Langshott is the best of them all, frankly you would be mad to stay anywhere else..
We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel...

We chose this hotel from tripadvisor reviews and its close proximity to the airport as we were spending our 45th wedding anniversary in Sicily and flying out from Gatwick airport, What an oasis of calm in the midst of all the mayhem! we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea on arrival, our room was located on the ground floor overlooking the croquet lawn, what a shame we could not explore the gardens due to the inclement weather! The evening meal was excellent! Sadly we missed breakfast due to an early flight to Sicily, however fresh coffee and continental breakfast was delivered to our room at 4am.The taxi transfers to and from the airport were organised by the hotel, and all ran smoothly. Dressing gowns were provided in the room but no slippers! So we must remember to pack our own when we next visit!

Room Tip: we stayed in Hever , on the ground floor, very convenient for early morning checkout

I visited the hotel in October 2013 for a relative's wedding.
There can be no denying that the place is absolutely stunning. The building is a Tudor manor (the history of which you can read about in the hotel which was nice), and the gardens, rooms and croquet pitch are are all beautifully presented.
I stayed in the separate building of Henry the VIII rooms. My room was gorgeous, with the most beautiful, comfy bed- a bad night's sleep would be impossible. The room was clean and tidy, wifi provided, it was wonderfully warm, the en suite was huge, towelling dressing gowns were provided, and there were little notes about who had prepared your room etc, which were sweet. My only complaint in the rooms is that the tea, coffee biscuits etc were really pretty poor and stingy given how nice everything else was.
The staff were absolutely lovely- so friendly and helpful, even though we were pretty demanding with it being a wedding, and some of our requests must have been pretty annoying!
The food for the main meal was lovely and the staff were more than happy to help with anything, like serving meat off the bone if people needed.
The only real negatives about this hotel are that the drinks prices are absolutely extortionate! Also, I found the food at breakfast disappointing given how much you pay for a night's stay- the 'french toast' didn't taste at all like french toast, it seemed more like pancakes; the pastries at the buffet were definitely not fresh, my guess is they were around 3 days old; and when I stayed I was told there was no hot chocolate, which seems pretty unbelievable.
This hotel is beautiful, and you are bound to have a lovely stay, however I think the value for money is pretty poor given some of its shortfalls.

This was booked as a birthday treat via a Travel Zoo deal - we opted to upgrade to a Master suite. This is my only niggle. Our room was beautiful, but it was not a suite. A suite by definition is a group of rooms, and this wasn't. It was spacious and beautifully decorated, but it was only one room. Also the website does not do the hotel justice. The rooms shown are all very modern, when in reality the hotel is a beautiful old building, with glorious gardens and characterful accommodation.

The taster menu was absolutely delicious, and beautifully presented, and the quality of the food generally excellent. my haddock with poached eggs for breakfast was divine, as was my husband's full English. The staff were all very helpful and unfailingly pleasant.

I am not sure i would pay the listed rate of £300 plus for the same room with dinner, but as part of a deal it was an amazing hotel, and I would consider staying there prior to holidays, as its very close to Gatwick, but incredibly peaceful. However two G&Ts were £23!

Room Tip: Check if you upgrade to a suite it a really is a suite. Master suites are actually large rooms but n...

My boyfriend and I stayed with a 'secret escapes' deal, just looking for a nice hotel for our anniversary, but paid £20 extra for an upgrade of room. We stayed in the jane seymour room and have to say it was perfect with a balcony overlooking the moat, stunning. We were overwhelmed with how pretty it was, we walked around the gardens and hotel and was bowled over. The staff were so lovely and really attentive. Before we went for dinner I was thinking how perfect it would be if my boyfriend were to propose to me, and he did just that and it made our weekend!! Little did I know he'd been planning all the little touches with the staff there and he has since told me how great they were. When it came to paying our bill they had made me a gift which was a small brochure, a copy of our menu that we ate and a print out photo of the room we stayed in, it was so kind of them! Dinner and breakfast were delicious, we had the wine flight with dinner and must say it was perfectly fitting, everything cooked to perfection and presentation and service was outstanding.
Tips- if u do venture out there isn't masses to do but the small pub down the road which we walked to was nice
-there's been lots of reviews about a service charge added on to bills, we didn't so not sure what that's about?
-our secret escapes deal was more than value for money, but I think we would have paid full price for it
-you would have no idea this is near an airport, no noise whatsoever

All in all, can't thank langshott staff enough, a weekend we'll remember and will definitely be going back!
