Have to say that Cumberland House Hotel is the place to stay if you need a bed for the night before or after your flight. We have been staying at Cumberland House regularly now for the last 3 years and have been made to feel like one of the family. Always a very warm welcome from Carmel and Clive. Prompt and efficient check in on arrival, assistance with luggage to your room and then back to the lounge for a welcome freshly made cup of tea, this time we also had the pleasure of home made cake. The bedrooms have everything you will need for your stay including free WiFi, the beds are so comfortable. The cooked breakfast is to die for, being cooked to order with good selection. If you are unfortunate enough to have an early flight a help yourself buffet is set up for you in the dining room. Private transfer to and from the airport is run like clockwork. Carmel and Clive will both go out of their way to make your stay memorable. And we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: For couples travelling together ask if Paul and Lindas room is available as these are recent additio...

Excellent , a very warm welcome, helped by taking luggage to our rooms, the hotel is spotless, beds and pillows without doubt the best in any hotel which we have stayed. Breakfast is superb.
As for Carmel and Clive they are very nice people with a sense of humour and very caring.

We stayed here as a party of four (two couples) on Sunday 22nd of April and it was great. Warm welcome, spacious rooms, great breakfast. We also took advantage of the on site parking whilst away for ten days which includes airport transfers and the whole deal costs not much more than parking at Gatwick alone. A good all round experience which we will do again.

Room Tip: Book early.

We all were very pleased with our stay. The cleanliness was second to none with beautiful white sheets and a spotless bathroom. Carmel and Clive were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The full English was delicious and on time. We had a conference to go to and we were limited with time. We were so pleased, we have already booked for our next conference in December.

I had traveled from South Wales to Horley, staying overnight for a job interview at Reigate.

I was greeted with a warm welcome from Carmel, who was very nice and attentive. For a single bedroom, I found it spacious and the bed was much bigger than I had anticipated. The room was clean with fresh sheets and towels.

The bed was easy to sleep in and it was nice to find extra pillows in the wardrobe. A rare find in some places!!

The shower was clean, modern and spacious with easy access facilities and was quick to warm up.

It is situated in a nice area and I would highly recommend the Olde Six Bells pub, located about 200 meters down the road. The atmosphere was very friendly with reasonably priced meals and beer. Would definitely recommend for an evening meal if you are looking for a nice, traditional old fashioned English pub.

I had a good nights rest and was welcomed by a fully cooked English breakfast in the morning. There was no shortage of food on offer as I was offered a selection of cereals to start, followed by a fully cooked breakfast and several slices of toast with their delicious locally made jam.

After checking out I was provided with a lift to the train station by Clive and was wished "Good luck" for the job interview.

I would definitely recommend Cumberland House if you are staying in the area, it is well run in a professional manner but provides a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

From prompt pickup at airport after receiving detailed info on what to do upon arriving to a welcoming tea/coffee delivered to our room even though there was self serve , you will not find a better haven nor more caring and attentive hosts. Room was spotless, comfy beds, lovely modern shower with all amenities and scrumptious breakfast. I had difficulty verifying my flight that evening and Carmel had already checked it by the time I sat down for breakfast. We had a wonderful room on the main floor and had no trouble with traffic noise as an earlier traveler mentioned..earplugs were provided on the night stand for those who might require them...attention to detail is what they are all about, and they do it well at a reasonable price. Not being a seasoned traveler, this was an oasis and I couldn't have felt more cared for. Highly recommend and wish I could have stayed longer. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else...first rate in every way.
