“Great value park and fly hotel”

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn the night before our flight, having driven down from Manchester late evening. On arrival the check in was quick and the staff very helpful, our children were given a voucher to redeem at the bar for free milk and cookie which was a lovely little treat and made their night! The room was basic but more than adequate for our needs, it was very clean and plenty big enough for the four of us. I would agree with others that the drinks and food prices are high but not extravagant. The breakfast and service the following morning was really good and the children loved the self serve pancake machine. We will definitely use this hotel again for pre-flight stays and would recommend it to others. Overall really good value for money, with free parking for the two weeks we were away included and the shuttle bus to the airport was very reliable, about a five minute journey to South terminal and very regular too.

This is the second time I've stayed at this Hotel and I would recommend it, 2 mins from north terminal, good clean rooms, good service in bar and restaurant, fast check in and check out, the only down side is that you have to pay for the car park when staying for a night, I don't think this is right and should be free, I've seen this mentioned a few times here and have to agree.
All in all a good place to stop before early flight or after a late flight, recommended.

You generally know wht to expect with Holiday Inn (I'm a Priority Club Member) and the Gatwick property was no exception. Clean throughout but a little shabby in places (e.g. the corridor to the rooms). Slightly pricy bar and food for what you get. Room nice enough for one night. Pricy for one night maybe but considering we had 8 days parking included then good value overall. I'd generally recommend.

Room Tip: Away from the front to avoid being disturbed by the shuttle buses.

Early morning flight the next day necessitated a stay at the hotel. Reasonable price, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Bus transport from the airport is available and simple to use while offering frequent trips. Would be more than happy to stay again.

We were travelling back home after the red-eye from Orlando and booked into the Holiday Inn using Hotwire. We arrived early and no rooms were ready so had to sit in reception for over an hour while waiting jet lagged! The hotel itself felt a little dated and the twin! room we were allocated had a very old fashioned feel about it.

We were really tired and the hotel did give us a pleasant and quiet nights sleep which is the main thing.

Breakfast was overpriced as with most hotels so we grabbed that back in the airport.

The 'complimentary' shuttle bus makes around four stops when leaving the airport but is direct on return, there is a charge for this.

Our shuttle bus service is run by a third party and the details of the cost are on our web site. I am really sorry if you were misinformed.

Im writing 2 reviews as I stayed here the night before my holiday (27th may) and the night we came back (4th june). first,our night before holiday- we got a taxi from the train station (£10) check in was quick and easy room was fine nothing special but perfectly fine for us especially as we were leaving at 7am. We got food in the bar not restaurant,I only had a selection of starters but my boyfriend had a hot dog looked big and he said was tasty good value for £10 (not sure how they can charge £10 for hotdog but £15 for a burger!?) We had a good nights sleep and a quick check out. The airport bus leaves right outside the front and only takes about 10 minutes.£3 each for the bus to the airport is steep but not sure this is set by the hotel? But leaves every 10 minutes which is good.

We stayed overnight as we had a 7am morning flight, overnight stay and 10 days parking was same cost as parking alone at Gatwick, so good value in that sense. We arrived about 8pm and checked in, dropped our bags in the room and headed off to the restaurant to get some dinner. Despite 15 free tables, we were told there was a 40 minute wait for tables, so we sat in the bar opposite to have a drink, and watched other guests being told the same thing. When we went into the restaurant 40 minutes later, there were still lots of free tables. They restaurant was hardly busy, rather it appears to be a diversion tactic to get you to buy some drinks at the bar. As by now it was getting late and we were ready for bed, we ordered our drinks and food straight away and when our food was delivered, we asked them for the bill as we didn't want to be hanging around any longer. To be fair to the waitress staff, they were all polite but it appears they are stretched and I said to them the point of making us wait 40 minutes for a table when the restaurant wasn't busy, wasn't appreciated. Can't comment on the breakfast as we got the shuttle early next morning, the room was adequate and clean albeit a damp smell.

Room Tip: Eat dinner off site if you can, for a better meal and experience.
