The Biggest Travelodge we have ever seen ... Thinking it must have been a large hotel in a previous life! Big car park ,restaurant, foyer, entrance etc ... Rooms are standard Travelodge but very large ........
Has automatic check in for when it is busy... Very relaxing when we were there but might be different when it is full?
A little hard to find ... Make sure you pay for parking which is £7.50 for 24 hours or you will be wheel clamped!
Ideal night before a flight ... Only 5 minutes from airport and car parks.
You can also leave your car ( pre book) and get shuttle to airport.
Really good value with friendly staff.
Menu is good and varied with a well stocked bar .. or you can walk to nearby garage for a snack.
Free Wifi too!

In the past we have used the Lowfield Heath Travelodge and standards were so poor we said "never again"! Needed a quick overnight for an early flight departure so thought we'd try this Travelodge. I am pleased to say that it came up trumps. Easy check-in/out, spacious refurbished room, comfortable bed, good nights sleep, good shower, friendly helpful staff etc. Also cheaper in cost than most Premier Inns (£29 a night are rare!). Whilst the bar area is spacious and nice for spending the evening we were disappointed with the food available. Perhaps it was because it was 10.30pm? Only choice for us was a cheeseburger, chips and a dry salad. Given the time though it was better than nothing and no alternative restaurant available outside. Coffee was good with free top-ups which gets a tick in my book!

Haven't used Travelodge for approx. 5 years as standard had steadily fallen over previous years while Premier Inn had offered a much better offering. Decided to try this Travelodge as it had been refurbished, recent reviews by others were favourable and my preferred Premier Inn was considerably more expensive. I was pleased to find that I this Travelodge was indeed much improved on my last experience of a Travelodge and it had its own bar. For a 1 night stay prior to a flight out the following day it was perfect.

Stayed here befofe my flight this week, had a great stay! The rooms are very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay! Good value for money in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Would definitely recommend due to how cheap the rooms are and the close proximity to the airport!

We have used this Travelodge on numerous occasions when flying from Gatwick and it never fails to please us. A good, sensibly priced bar for a pint or two and a good nights sleep, plus a reliable transfer bus to the terminal.

The location to Gatwick Airport is very good. Particularly for an early or late flight, avoiding traffic challenges from London.
An outbound and inbound flight meant 2 stays in a short period of time. 1st visit, and a first floor room on the corner of the building exposed on two walls to the outside elements. Heater non functional so a freezing cold night. Car parking is not clear. You have to pay for parking. If unfamiliar with this arrangement you will not be advised by the staff to ensure the ticket has been purchased and for this stay the lighting of the pay machine was not working. A small A4 sign on the opposite end of the counter was the only indication that parking charges were levied. Once aware, the mobile phone facility to pay was easy enough. £60 fine for non payment though, and as arrived at 2300 for a 0615 flight, would have been a bit of a sting, especially as the tickets were being checked by a warden on our departure.
On the inbound stay the A4 sign had been removed so unlikely that anyone without experience of the routine, arriving at night will have been given a ticket. Room was very good and the amenities welcome.
The location and cost is very good but the experiences of 2 visits to the same hotel over such a short period of time, should not be so diverse.

This must be the exception that proves the rule! I am flabbergasted, having stayed in a number of truly dire Travelodges whose only saving grace was the cheapness of the room the Gatwick Central was a real eye opener. It was great - warm and clean with recently refurbished rooms and a restaurant serving a passable dinner and breakfast menu and all for a keen price.

A top experience with friendly staff as well - recommended. Hint for the Travelodge chain - improve your other locations to mirror this facility and you will be onto a winner.
